The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has sworn in a new therapy dog, Officer Gus, who is now providing peer support to officers. Gus is a mini Australian Labradoodle born Sept. 19, 2022. He was bred for therapy work by Ashford Manor Labradoodles in Indiana and trained by Ultimate Canine.
Gus began training Nov. 2022 and had undergone three rigorous training levels. He knows over 30 obedience commands, has been exposed to various environments and is trained to de-escalate tense situations.

The Tomah Police Department has a new furry companion. Officers welcomed a labradoodle named Ruby to their team,Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles donated Ruby to the department. Ruby, who is only eight weeks old, will provide support to people in stressful situations. Officer Delaney Hanrahan, Ruby’s primary caretaker, plans to take Ruby into schools, hospitals and nursing homes. Hanrahan says dogs make the working environment more relaxing. “They just kind of give a calming presence and just another tool that we can use in our job setting,” Hanrahan said. “She’s just so cute. The Waterford Township Police Department is proud to announce its newest and most anticipated member of the police department. Our new guy is an Australian Labradoodle who is hypoallergenic and non-shedding. This little guy is going to be everyone’s favorite officer in the community.
As part of our resiliency training our new friend will be assisting the community, our students, and our officers, with unconditional love and affection. We would like to thank Hidden Springs Australian Labradoodles for supporting our program and with their generous donation.

ALAA is thrilled to announce a partnership and grant recipient with Good Dog! Good Dog is a great resource for pet families looking for dogs from breeders, shelters and rescues. The grant will be used for educational materials and information for breeders and pet families. They established a club partnership program to support non- profits like the ALAA in an effort to build a better world for our dogs.
In addition, their knowledge base is extensive and have offered to host a webinar for our breeder members with their legal team to discuss the breeding industry.

The Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA) announced the launch of a new brand and website today. Since 2004, the ALAA has been the leader in education and responsible breeding practices for Australian Labradoodles. Consisting of over 4,000 members and 88,000 dog registrations, ALAA serves as the epicenter for a community of breeders and pet parents. Within their tenure, the elected Board of Directors moved to update the brand and website to reflect the quality of the organization.

2015 ALAA Roundtable
The 2015 ALAA Roundtable was held at the Embassy Suites in Orlando, FL. It was a great success with approximately 90 attendees from around the world. We networked at the meet and greet and learned a lot from our keynote speakers Gayle Watkins on Transformational Puppy Rearing Program and Rhonda Hovan about the Challenges Ahead. Member breeders had the opportunity to sponsor the event for the first time! It was a great event filled with educational and networking opportunities for all!

The ALAA first ever Winter Roundtable was held at the Embassy Suits Orlando-International Drive South/Convention, in Orlando Florida. April Cliber discussed the importance of photo editing and gave a demonstration on the use of photo editing using Pic Monkey.
