On December 12th, we were honored to host Bill Mumma for our final Veritas Speaker Series of 2023. Bill Mumma is the Board Chairman of both the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty and FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students). He and his wife, Kathy, live in Summit, New Jersey, and have six children and 18 grandchildren. In his talk, Bill conveys the essence of our times—an apostolic age where embracing faith is not enough; we are called to actively propose it, defend it, and even suffer for it. Our second-ever Mountaineer Spirit Week was a huge success! Mountaineer Spirit Week coincides with the anniversary of the Canonization of St. John Paul the Great (September 29) and we do it up in style with tons of activities to celebrate JPG! First Annual Totus Tuus Scholarship Breakfast

On Tuesday, September 26th we welcomed nearly one-hundred guests to St. John Paul the Great for our inaugural Totus Tuus Scholarship Breakfast. Funds raised from the event will be used to assist families of all backgrounds in affording a world-class education at JPG. The event began with mass at Our Lady of Lourdes, then breakfast and an inspiring keynote from Fr. John Nepil, a member of our Board of Trustees. On Tuesday, May 23 our JPG founding freshmen, parents, faculty, staff and coaches gathered for our Year-End Breakfast to celebrate this historic first year at St. John Paul the Great. We began with Mass in our gathering space where Fr. Sean Conroy emphasized looking back with gratitude on this first year and encouraged our freshmen to prepare their hearts to be virtuous leaders for our incoming freshmen class. As part of our formation at JPG, we embark on a service day once per trimester focusing on the works of mercy. On Wednesday, February 15th, our school spent the day with Christ in the City, starting with a convocation from Mark Bauman, the board president and one of the main founders of this important ministry in Denver. Mark shared his powerful and gradual conversion story, explaining how he took a lifetime to realize that everything in his life has been a gift from the Father, even the things he once viewed as a curse or could not make sense out of. Formation Friday is a school-wide opportunity to participate in teamwork, hands-on learning, and a healthy dose of fun! Formation Fridays supplement the student experience with hands-on and off-site encounters with truth and beauty. They occur four times per trimester. To raise the stakes, some Formation Fridays are a competition between households with points awarded for the year-long competition for the Household Cup.
