Event photography for Rueda(Spain)/ Slonk wine at Leftield Edinburgh, UK. Had a pleasure to be invited to take some images for a wine event hosted by Leftield Edinburgh and Slonk wine.
This was one of those typical early Spring rainy days in Edinburgh, but as a food photographer I accepted a challenge and used my flash to find light.
As an Edinburgh, Glasgow region photographer my job is to represent the event even if it is raining. This is why it is important to understand how artificial light works and take that into consideration when hiring a photographer.

Saturday morning walk
What does a Food photographer do on a Saturday morning? Go to the Farmers Market! In this case, I went to Edinburgh Farmer's market, which is the closest near me. It is located on the Castle terrace, the view is spectacular! Especially in summer when the skies are clear and we get those beautiful blue Northern European skies in Scotland! I love walking through the Meadows park in Edinburgh.
What equipment do I need to photograph in bright daylight?
I decided to take my Nikon d750 and a 50mm lens with me that day. I didn’t take my 35mm-105mm Micro lens, as wanted to swing ..read more

This is one of my favourite summer desserts. Easy to style and you can make it on the same day. You are going to love it! sometimes pan cota can get to creamy, not this one. This is a perfect milk/cream ratio. I adapted this recipe, from Leith’s school food and wine, as we went through an excessive sweet marathon.
makes 4 moulds
Ingredients:
3 gelatine leaves
150ml milk
250ml/9fl oz double cream
1 vanilla pod or 1/2 tbsp of vanilla essence
15 g- 25g ( I like it less sweet, I leave this up to you)
To serve :
