Terry and Kelly eloped in winter in Telluride, and they had the time of their life! They booked our All-Inclusive package, which means that didn’t have to do a thing! We took care of their entire elopement, providing their flowers, hair styling, make-up, and planning out the day!
They had a beautiful first look, an intimate self-solemnized ceremony, and a fun adventure through and around Telluride! We ended the day with a gorgeous sunset and then they were off to Allred’s for their first dinner as husband and wife!

We are so excited to share these photos from Keith & Savannah’s epic fall elopement! The couple came from Arizona to the San Juan Mountains for their elopement! I could go on and on about how great the weather was, how much fun we had driving Bruiser to high elevation locations, and jumping over creeks… but I will let their photos do the talking! ;)
We got the sweetest message from them after the big day, “Honestly we are both speechless looking through these pictures! We love them and will cherish them forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We are so tha ..read more

Vikki and Mike’s elopement was such a special day! They are amazingly genuine people, and we had an incredible day together hiking and exploring! We picked them up in Bruiser before dawn, and started driving up to one of our very favorite secret spots. We got there and started hiking immediately, trying to make it to the top before the sun crested over the mountains. The couple wanted to have a first look on top of the mountain, so Mike hiked ahead and luckily, had enough self-control to not turn around and peek at his bride! Their dogs played an important role in their elopement day, and we l ..read more

What a year for eloping in Telluride! So many amazing couples came to the western slope of Colorado to get married and chose me to photograph their elopement! I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of this special day with you!
Picking my favorite picture from each elopement was not easy. There are some pictures that weren’t chosen, because I had already chosen a photo from that same scene from a different elopement. I looked at emotion, scenery, moments, creativity and over all color and beauty of the picture. I would imagine that most couples have ..read more

The snowy months are very romantic for beautiful winter elopements, and this blog will share the best places to elope in Colorado in winter! Most peoples’ first thoughts are “What if it’s too cold in Colorado in winter?” It’s usually not as cold as you think — really! Western CO has more sunny days per year than the US average. The strong sun in the afternoon can make it feel 20 degrees warmer — you’ve just got to trust us on this one! I’m not promising you won’t have heavy snow and wind while you’re here. That happens… but isn’t that the perfect excuse to cozy up to your partner to kee ..read more

Self-solemnizing your wedding ceremony is truly unique, but we understand it can also be intimidating! We’ve answered some basic FAQ’s about marrying yourselves in Colorado. If you have more detailed questions about how it works, email us at joe@elopetelluride.com.
What is self-solemnizing?
It is getting legally married without a minister, judge or other officiant. In its simplest form: you say vows to each other, sign the marriage license, and then it’s legal! Colorado is only one of three states to allow this, which makes is so unique and intimate. Most couples read vows, exchan ..read more

“You belong among the wildflowers /
You belong somewhere close to me /
Far away from your trouble and worries /
You belong somewhere you feel free.” —Tom Petty, Wildflowers
We couldn’t agree more, and these lyrics encompass the spirit of eloping! There are many reasons to elope in western Colorado, but one that gets overlooked a little are the amazing mountain wildflowers that grow in the summer!
On this wildflower elopement blog, we’re featuring photos from Shea and Taylor’s special day. Their elopement ceremony was at one of our favorite wildflower spots, and we hiked through a ..read more

On a foggy fall morning, we met Roxane & Derek at sunrise to set off on their adventure elopement in the San Juan’s. We had a place in mind for their ceremony, to show off the fall colors they told us they loved so much! The ceremony was peaceful, beautiful, and intimate. We set off to find some more incredible yellow Aspen leaves, which wasn’t hard in the Rocky Mountains of western Colorado!
It was a fantastic day with these two, and we are so glad they chose to us to plan & photograph their mountain elopement!
