The perfect elopement is the one that speaks to the hearts of you and your partner. There is no one-size-fits-all approach—it’s your day to share, and it should be tailored to fit the vision you share.
Whether you opt for an adventurous trek to an unforgettable overlook with your fiancé or keep things a bit more traditional by having friends and family join you for the ceremony, crafting your ideal wedding is a profoundly personal process.
There may be no aspect of your elopement that demonstrates this more deeply than writing and sharing your vows. It’s where you bare your heart and soul, div ..read more

As an elopement photographer who’s pulling for your vision–and your vision alone–of your elopement day, I’m a big fan of any vendor who can help you get you there.
Yep, that means when it comes to wedding coordinators for your elopement day, no matter how wild and wandering it might be, is a big YES in my book.
It’s my belief that getting married your way is the ultimate path for any couple. That means there are no rules. So, if that means taking the wonder of an adventure elopement and pairing it with some more traditional wedding elements or extra pizzazz, then that’s exactly wha ..read more

I think it’s partly true to say that the magic of an elopement day unravels on its own. There’s something about those sweeping views, picking a place that’s special to you and your partner, and honestly, just doing things the way you always wanted to that makes things so incredibly meaningful.
But you know what most people don’t realize? The other half of that magic lies in a little bit of planning–and more specifically, in creating an incredible elopement timeline.
A lot of people hear the word “timeline” and waver a bit. To some, it sounds really rigid, like a strict to-do list you hav ..read more

Something I truly love about my job is that I’m capturing moments in time for two people wholly in love–but no one (I mean not even me!) should have to wait for their elopement day to have those moments captured forever. I’m a big (like really big) fan of couples booking sessions for a ton of reasons other than just their elopement.
Don’t get me wrong–elopements are obviously my jam (it’s my entire job, after all), but what it really boils down to is that love deserves to be captured, no matter where you are on your journey. And that, of course, includes engagement photos.

There are so many exciting and incredible things about an adventure elopement–the wild scenery, the freedom of doing exactly what you want, and of course, the adventure itself of choosing your partner. But you know what doesn’t get enough credit in adventure elopements? The ceremony.
In my personal opinion, the elopement ceremony is one of the peak moments of the entire day. Don’t get me wrong, hiking and exploring, and soaking in each moment fully are all incredible elements, too. But if you’re really getting down to the root of it, your elopement day is about marrying your partner–and that h ..read more

When it comes to helping couples plan their elopement day, the one thing I want more than anything for them is a day of no regrets. No matter how they plan it, what they do, and who’s invited, ultimately, I want them to remember this: it’s their day, and it should feel like it.
Over the years, I’ve been thinking about everything I wish couples knew about eloping before they tied the knot. I’ve always wished there was something out there that could act as a roadmap for every couple who wants to elope–something to guide them, remind them of important things, and shine the light on what the ..read more

One of the reasons I’m a photographer is because there’s something indistinguishably magical about being able to freeze a moment in time. Watching couples see the images I’ve captured for them and be able to feel what they felt in those moments is like a secret superpower–a gift that I can’t imagine not being able to give.
And it’s this magic–along with the magic of meeting amazing couples who want to ditch what’s expected and prioritize what’s important to them–that’s what keeps me absolutely over the moon in love with what I do.
But there’s a truly important distinction I want to ..read more

Adventure elopements haven’t just opened the door for couples to imagination, creativity, and of course, wild experiences on their wedding days; they’ve basically kicked the door down, screaming at the top of their lungs, “Do things your way; it’s your day!”
For that, I’m eternally grateful. I’m very pro-do-things-the-way-you-want on your wedding day, and if that means you and your love want an epic, one-of-a-kind adventure that’s all about your priorities, we’re going to get along just fine.
But there’s one thing about the elopement world that bothers me a touch. Everyone seems to ..read more

Most of the couples I work with usually work through the details of their day together. Watching that teamwork in action is incredible–they can pinpoint what matters most to them, create a wedding day that’s perfect for them, and really prioritize what’s meaningful.
While there’s always room for spontaneity and surprise, usually, both people are in on planning and experiencing the day as a whole. Surprise proposals, on the other hand, are a totally different ballgame.
When Aza reached out to me and said he wanted to orchestrate an RMNP proposal for his girlfriend on 3M curve, I was alrea ..read more

5 Reasons to Book More Coverage on Your Elopement Day
I wish every elopement day could somehow last forever. Even though I’ve mastered capturing elopements, I’m still waiting on that whole “master of time and space” skill to kick in–so, I can’t freeze time and make your day last longer. (Just know that I wish I could).
The closest thing you can do to stopping time? Picking the right amount of coverage for your elopement day. And before we even dive into what that might look like for you, I want to be clear–in most cases, I think that means more than four hours.
Every moment ..read more
