Frost Creek Golf Club Wedding in Eagle Colorado Wedding Details: Frost Creek is an awesome wedding venue. Every wedding day will be different. You can get a feel for the type of wedding day by the mode of transportation.  Some people use classic cars, limos, party buses or walk.  In this case the vehicle of choice were Polaris RZRs.  For those who are not familiar these are basically 4 seater ATVs.  This is basically a vehicle that is made for playing in the mud off road. Mud and white wedding dresses certainly go together – right? The main use was for driving over from th ..read more

Arrowhead Colorado Golf Club Wedding Wedding Details: This was either the 4th or 5th wedding we have done at Arrowhead. Eventually after a while you start to lose track.  What you cannot forget is the epic mountain view. The red rocks are jutting out of the ground surrounded by green turf. There are ponds around the golf course and a changing topography.  It is a beautiful venue for golfers and even more for celebrating a wedding.  We recommend short listing this wedding venue. They used the smaller ceremony site off of the clubhouse for the ceremony.  They had the recepti ..read more

Proposal in the Sapphire Point Area past Sunset Proposal Details: The original plan was for this proposal to be on valentines day. Colorado had other plans for Drew and Hannah.  It was likely a good thing to have rescheduled things as the weather that day was fairly rough.  It would have also made it hard to find this hidden location.  While we do not recommend it he scouted things out ahead of time.  It will be officially the 3rd time we have met a proposal guy in advance.  We were there waiting on another shoot that particular day which led to the crossing paths. We ..read more

Surprise Proposal at Fish Creek Falls in Steamboat Proposal Details: Steamboat gets a lot of snow in the winter.  This one was no exception as the packed snow was about 4 to 5 feet deep at Fish Creek Falls.  The main impact was that it changed a little of the method of how it was shot.  We functionally were in a deep hole without the ability to see the couple.  The trail was well packed.  Oddly this snow pack went beyond the spot were there is no trail.  People tried to go that way then fell in the snow up a huge hill.  This time of year the waterfall was st ..read more

Proposal with Real, Raw, Candid Emotion Proposal Details: As you might gather from the title we freakin love getting the real, raw, candid emotion in proposals.  These moments you cannot recreate due to them being crazy authentic and high emotion.  Most proposals are like that which is why we are such a big advocate for them in photography.  Sure it is a job and income but there is nothing like getting to shoot them.  They can be quite difficult depending on the style of things.  Our primary style is to get hidden away so that we can shoot the real thing. This proposa ..read more

Engagement Around Union Station Downtown Denver Engagement Session Details: They were staying in Denver for an extended time due to work.  What better than to commemorate the season of life with some engagement photos in Denver.  We started near Union station and walked around the surrounding area.  The shoot was up against sunset.  After dodging some cars in the road we made our way to the Millennium Bridge and then over by the Wynkoop Bridge.  There is an artistic unique architecture look to the areas.  As we got closer to the sunset and crossed into that funct ..read more

Winter Engagement Session at Twin Lakes Engagement Details: Winter is one of those seasons with limited access to mountain locations. Twin Lakes is kinda in the middle of nowhere.  What a great sales pitch for a Colorado mountain location – right?  Independence Pass is closed so it is somewhat on an island. There are nearby homes and a little town.  The couple was on a weekend away from Denver.  They were staying nearby in a rental.  They had their little dog with them.  He was a little cute pup who was full of energy. The road to the spot we used was certainly s ..read more

What Are Digital Images?

Digital Images are a Mosaic of Square Pixels We all regularly use digital images but if we are real we do not really know what they are at the core.  Digital images contain pixels which are basically like a mosaic.  When you really zoom in at an extreme level you really cannot even make out what you are looking at most of the time.  The reason why we think this matters is that quality is getting redefined.  If you really think about what photography is you will see that most people get getting things backwards.  Photography is equally, if not more, about what you do i ..read more

Proposal at Sunset with Vibrant Colors Proposal Details: Proposals at sunset can look awesome.  It is something about the soft light warmly creating that pop.  Maybe it is aided by the skirt choice. Fire orange skirt with a lined legging. Sunset does not always turn out this way as it will depend on the clouds / weather.  It can be a great time regardless as it is good for celebrating over dinner.  The main downside is that you cannot just wing it or easily just do something off the trail.  Sapphire Point is a bit crazy year round.  This led us to find a spot in ..read more

Private Snowmobile Tour with a Proposal Proposal Details: Proposing on a private snowmobile tour is fun but expensive.  We say that knowing it is all relative to one perspective.  The couple was staying at the Four Seasons in Vail.  It might have been that the concierge told them of us – Thank you! They took the day to do a 2 hour private tour.  Normally there is some kind of story to why I am there but in this case I just rolled with it.  They group you up and do some practice track runs before sending you off with a guide.  I hung back in the rear of the group ..read more
