With Microsoft announcement of plans to disable SMBv1, due to its security vulnerabilities, this leaves millions of photocopier machines unable to use scan to folders function. To circumvent this, you can manually enable SMBv1 by adding it back from Windows Features add-remove. For the newly launched Windows 11 operating system or computers upgraded with it, scan to folder once again no longer works despite of the following setup, which works perfectly for Windows 10 and before: Setting network to Private Window File and Printer Sharing Enable. We’ve received a strange instruction from the IT Departments of my client’s Company’s head office; to request the manufacturer of an Asus notebook remove restrictions on using Microsoft Volume License on one of the employees ultrabook. The situation is that one of the employees purchased an Asus ultrabook from Best Denki Singapore and had it upgraded from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro. A handful of customers came to me recently complaining about unable to access folders in their servers. It all ran fine initially until recently inquiries start coming in complaining about problem of this nature. What’s common with these customers are they all uses Windows 10 and their file servers are all Network Attached Storage (NAS) file servers which we installed for them.
