Former Michigan State defensive tackle Derrick Harmon has committed to Oregon, he announced Friday. Harmon, the No. 2 player in The Athletic’s rankings of the best available transfers, chose the Ducks over USC, Colorado and Ohio State and joins a portal recruiting class that is among the best in the country as Oregon pursues a College Football Playoff bid in Year 3 under coach Dan Lanning. ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia has given contract extensions to football coach Kirby Smart and athletic director Josh Brooks, announcing both on Thursday afternoon, a message of alignment between the school and its powerful football program.
