So, now that it’s become evident that they have no intention whatsoever to tank and rebuild, they’re looking at an interesting set of candidates to take the reins of their project.

The Toronto Raptors made a somewhat shocking decision when they fired Nick Nurse.
The coach had raised the team’s ceiling and had a winning record in all but one season in charge of the organization, but some felt like he had already outstayed his welcome up north.
And now that Masai Ujiri is reportedly leaving no stone unturned in his pursuit of a new coach, Michael Grange of Sportsnet recently reported that they’re even considering former NBA player JJ Redick as a potential candidate.

Today, DeMar DeRozan is known as the most important player for the Chicago Bulls.
But not too long ago, he was a crucial part of the Toronto Raptors.
Although his Raptors were quite good, they fell short of reaching the Finals.
Instead, Toronto claimed a championship the year right after DeRozan left the team.
But he thinks that if he would’ve stuck around up north for a bit longer, he would have been able to get a ring.
“It sucks that we couldn’t see what could’ve happened with me still being there…We would’ve done the same thing,” DeRozan said on ..read more

Nurse led them to the NBA championship in 2019 and managed to keep the team competitive for the most part of his tenure, but there were rumblings of discontent within the locker room.
Now, Ian Begley reports that the Raptors could target former Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka as his replacement.
