One way to compare lucid dreams with non-lucid dreams is if lucid dreams were somehow prophetic rather than just analytical of your personal history. So my two lucid dreams of the uncanny valley in prior years might appear like a prophecy of doom where it wasn’t just about objectifying myself but also how other people in the real world might appear more materialistic and deterministic than they appear. So it can be a bit of a balancing act where certain thin athletes might actually reject the idea of not being partially objectified skeletally where it can be consensual to view people as being ..read more

And thank you, RJG. The topic is inherently interesting to me and necessitated reviewing stuff I haven't looked at for years - cosmology, curved 4D space, etc. That was consciousness raising. Statistics: Posted by Lagayscienza — Wed May 01, 2024 4:01 am ..read more

It is likely that nothing more can be done here. In discussions of physics and cosmology where the curvature of space-time becomes important, there are two possible explanations for this happening. Either a person's mind is unequal to the concept of a 4D space with closed curvature, or they are unwilling to do the intellectual work to understand it. In either case, their logic will be wrong because their physical facts will wrong. It is like arguing with someone who believes the earth is flat because, from the limited area that they can survey, it looks flat. And, because it looks flat, they ..read more

A cynical version of pop music is that your unconscious mind loves a song as if it were the weakest link among other songs in order to defeat the potential silliness of a song in the long term. One version of pop music is that the singer might actually not be wonderful but is still very good such that they become more relatable than wonderful classical music as a singing coach in a way that becomes more hedonistic. So even if we’re not actively trying to be better singers we can learn a tiny bit from a pop song on how to sing in a way that limits our pride when other listeners can be just as s ..read more

One reason the first time of listening to a pop song can be so hedonistic while later listenings might be less hedonistic could be because the initial song wasn’t actually as good as it appeared rather than that the song got worse. So the song could function like a sting operation to catch out any flawed personality traits you had during the intervening period when you listen to the song weeks later. For example I get very rare hallucinatory musical ear worms where earlier today I could breathe slower to the brief beat of Rihanna in my mind. Perhaps nearly age 29 I could simply interpret the s ..read more

Following further developments of my theory of technological paradox, I think I may be able to figure better what a judge might want to say about this. In the General Philosophy forum, I started a new thread about paradoxical products and someone helped me realize that some products were "synthetic." Such products were not paradoxical because they were not to be confused with any other products since they are unique and unnatural. So, the "siren" could be considered a synthetic product. It may be more reasonable to welcome among us a synthetic product as opposed to a paradoxical product. How ..read more

Someone who understand what paradoxes are, can clearly see that there's no paradox here. Would you mind to elaborate a bit? FYI, A "paradoxical voice" isn't a real thing. It's just something that was made up by an ignorant person who thinks that he knows what paradoxes are. Here you do elaborate a very little bit, thanks. But can you please elaborate more in regards to the arguments made by that person, or by revealing which part of the definition of a paradox you use to assess that an alleged error is made so that we know where your authoritative knowledge comes from on this? P1. Finite objects have boundaries. This will not always be true. It will not be true if we are talking about a whole universe with a particular curvature. All objects within any 4D universe will indeed have boundaries. But a 4D universe with closed curvature would not itself have boundaries. Not so. If the 4D universe has closed “curvature”, then it will logically have a boundary, that defines its shape. A shape without a boundary is an oxymoron. 3D objects like a Klein bottle are analogous – they are finite but have no boundary on their curved surface. If they have a curved surface, t ..read more
