Has SPFL solved the conundrum of the missing point?

Ever since the implementation of 3 points for win many have mused on what happens to the third point when there is a draw. Perhaps the SPFL has found the answer in the group stages of the Scottish League Cup. In order to streamline the competition it was decided to dispense with extra time and replays in the knockout stage and to go straight to a penalty shootout in the event of a draw. It seems this decision has been extended to the group stages where in the event of a draw there is a... Read more ..read more

B sides in the Lower Leagues.

I think we should allow the big Scottish sides to play reserve teams in the lower leagues., ] In the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, France, and Spain the big sides play reserve or youth sides in the proper leagues. This allows young players to get early experience of competitive football. So allows young players to get experience behind them. It allows young players to develop. If we did this in Scottish football, it would allow more Scottish players to develop and get game time to... Read more ..read more

If for one month everyone represented their council area instead of their usual club

If for one month every year each player from Scotland 'came home' and represented the council area where they grew up instead of their usual club, imagine how refreshingly different it could be. There are 32 council areas in Scotland so there would be 32 teams (idea A) and rather than have the top seeds play the bottom seeds, I suspect we would design a cleverly imagined opponent allocation system just for this, that gives out more than one trophy (best improver and best in comparison to... What's everyones predictions? Would like to hear everyone's thoughts on who will be trophy winners, who will finish where in the league table etc. Feels strange being the only league really up and running in August as usual but glad our game might get more spotlight and attention than usual as a result. Anyway I'll go ahead and make my predictions below: League Table: 1 - C*ltic (assuming Morelos is sold and we don't adequately replace his goals) 2 - Rangers (squad capable of challenging if... Fifty years after the Lisbon lions - what went wrong?

Through seeing Celtic's new kit I realized it's 50 years since Celtic were the first British team to lift the European cup in Lisbon 1967. Surely few other cup wins are as renowned, with so many tributes and of course "John, you're immortal now". I'm not sure why that quote is so famous but it adds something. Celtic obviously played a part in my upbringing as Henrik Larsson kept banging them in, and even past his peak he could go on to Barca and United and perform. The gap has widened...
