So the candidates are Shankland, Butland, O Reilly, and astoundingly, Tavernier   Saw a guy from the Times saying he’s baffled as to why no Miovski   Obviously the usual Glasgow/Central Belt bias, if the candidates aren’t filled with players of the ugly sisters their entitled fans will kick off.   What do we think ..read more

Assuming Shinnie is suspended for this one? I'd like to see Sokler and Miovski start up front together, Sokler definitely needs more game time.   Doohan Devlin McDonald Gartenmann MacKenzie Clarkson Polvara Barron Duk Miovski Sokler ..read more

Keepers at penalties.

What's is the hat view on the keepers tactics at penalties especially  shoot outs. Pick a direction and dive . Or wait until kicked then dive    I'm always  the latter,  in every  shoot out at least one us put straight  down the middle, so keeper can just let it hit then. Also the only place the kicker can put it and know the keeper  won't get it is high into a corner, I've yet to see one saved  going there ..read more

Massive game. Expectation lower than a snakes belly. Positives: 2 games away from group stage European football. Negatives: we’re pish. Hard to be optimistic about this, but I’m going to be in/oot: in pre match: driving at early o’clock  post match: driving for hours post driving: celebrating a famous win with heavy drinking prediction: Aberdeen 2 Celtic 1 (Miovski and Clarkson)  ..read more

Whom Should JT Retain?

Our players have been generally shite this season but whom have had enough about them to be retained by Jimmy, b4 signing a clutch of players we most definitely need? Not many I suspect. Me? I would retain McKenzie, Ruby, MacDonald, McGrath, Polvara, Clarkson and perhaps Duk, if he can be focused again, and Devlin from the current match day squad.  However the rest, including Shinnie, may have to be moved on unless Jimmy can see something in them. Don't get me wrong I have been a big fan of Shinnie in the past but he now appears like Hayes, and is past his sell buy date.  Thoughts ..read more

Games that you've actually enjoyed this season

As another clusterfuck of a season approaches it's dismal conclusion, which games have you actually, truly, really enjoyed this season ? You know, games when you left smiling thinking 'that was great, let's have a few pints and talk it over, because it was brilliant'. Off the top of my head, I can say.... 3-1 at Ibrox. By head, shoulders and a massive fcuk off fat belly, the most enjoyable result. Sadly kept Robson in a job a bit longer.  2-1 v Hearts. Utter shite for 50 minutes, then it all flipped round. A last minute winner always makes a pint afterwards that bit better.  1-0 v Hi ..read more

Who has been AFC's worst player this season? And why? Jumby

Hi all.  In your opinion, who has been our worst player this season? And why? In this Jumby's opinion, the award goes to Shayden Morris.  He is absolute garbage, and the 20 minutes Warno gave him against Motherwell at Todders might just be the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. And I've seen thousands of Millertime posts on here. What are your thoughts?  Jumby-o ..read more

Scottish Soccerball in the US
AFC Chat Forums

For the posters out there who live in the US, what’s the level of coverage and interest in Scottish football?  Do any of the TV channels cover it regularly?  Is any individual or organization extolling its virtues and introducing your average US soccer enthusiast into the Scottish game? We have a few Scottish clubs that are at least part owned by Yanks or they have a controlling interest.  Our owner is US based and has strong ties with a MLS club who are our “partners”. Dundee United’s owner is American. The yank who owns Bournemouth is investing in Hibs.  The former Netfli ..read more
