This week, we feature Angela Xu on our Senior Spotlight!
As a graduating senior, we sat down with her to talk about her experiences with the club.
Angela is originally from Rhode Island, and is passionate about branding and design, and sharing what she’s learned as a member of GMS, and she’s able to do so as GMS’s VP. GMS has supported her with client-facing skills, as well as improving her time management, communication, and teamwork skills. September is one of the most hectic months for a lot of people in the United States. E-commerce as a way to make money has blown up in the past decade and a half. With so many people now gravitating online, the marketing industry has also migrated along with its market. Chee-po-le? Chip-ole? Chicole? For some, Chipotle may be a hard name to pronounce. When K-Pop boy band, BTS, was unable to pronounce the company’s name in a viral YouTube video, Chipotle responded quickly in a tweet by saying “Its chicole now” and changing its twitter handle to match. After the rise of TikTok over the past few years, other social media companies have tried to catch up by introducing similar features. For example, YouTube recently introduced Shorts and Twitter in their newly released video carousel. Perhaps the most notable version is Instagram’s: Reels. Reels are short-form videos that can include audio and filter effects, and like TikTok videos, have a huge potential to go viral. To promote The Batman’s recent release and Oreo’s limited-edition cookies featuring the superhero’s iconic emblem, Warner Bros. and Mondelez have teamed up once again to bring London a fully immersive cinematic experience. For three days beginning March 4, Rio Cinema was rebranded to Oreo Cinema, where moviegoers who attended opening weekend found themselves at the center of a pre-screening crime scene.
