This is the slow time of year for Florida birds down here, so I decided that Sept. 23-26 I'll be driving up to NC to check out the area around Maggie Valley. Only a few of the villages were so small that they had no church. Unfortunately, none of the small churches were open when we came upon them. No matter how small or poor a particular village appeared to be, all but one of the churches was very well maintained. The one exception is in Photo #4; it needs a paint job. We just returned from visiting our son who move to Seattle. Wife and I took a trip to the San Juan Islands for some hiking. Beautiful area! 1. Trail head in the San Juan Island National park.
