This place is called "La Huasteca Potosina". This magical place is set in a rainforest. It has beautiful waterfalls, caves of swallows, and a surrealistic sculpture garden by the English artist, Edward James. Here I celebrated my
twenty-fifth birthday.
Nature, and art are in the same place.
I wrote a poem about this place back then
A Tree
A slender and dark being,
Lies scattered in the meadows...

Tried a different method for self portrait - and it works
I regularly set my camera on a tripod, table, or whatever is handy —- to take portraits of Anne and I, or of groups that include the two of us. I just set the camera on the 12 second timer and head into my predetermined spot in the shot - then head back and fire the trigger and repeat the process 2 or 3 times to make sure everyone looks good in one of them. First day in Europe. Flight through the night, from Canada to Iceland and then on to Amsterdam, resulted in Anne and I seeing a short stint of the Northern lights as well as the current active volcano in Iceland —- but only through our plane window while flying.

looking out my window tonight, I noticed Jupiter in close proximity to the crescent moon. I headed out to my dark side road for some pics. My StarTracker app showed the planet Uranus in the vicinity as well - so I was able to identify it when viewing on my computer screen when I got home.
I got as close a shot as can get with my longest camera lens, of Jupiter and its Moons. Right above this planetary arrangement was the Seven Sisters cluster, so I grabbed a shot of that. While those stars...

Why some landscape images give trouble: An analysis of "Otaga Penninsula".
Hi Nathaniel,
You raised a very important question as to why a scene that's so compelling to look at can leave one questioning when one looks at the resulting picture.
I have not looked to see whether you sell such pictures or whether you are an accomplished wedding photographer or actually design cameras. All I know is that I and many others have done the same thing! So it was very much worth my while...

Now that I have been retired for over a year, and no longer take on any paid photography work —— I’ve been considering how to display and have easy access to my vast collection of processed photographs that I have been collecting and using on social media since going digital 20 years ago. My choice has been to revamp robertwatcher.com - striping out my portrait and other paid work - and build a simple website with a gallery containing my Catalog.
I have had different people - including a...
