New Matte Black Finished Hardware!
Noble Buffalo Leather Blog

Just a quick update today. I've started stocking matte black finished hardware that you can pair with any leather belt strap. These are solid brass interior buckles and chicago screws with a smooth non-glossy black finish. This hardware looks especially good on black leather straps such as the Horween Chromexcel in black and the Chahin Bridle strap in black. Also pairs nicely with any of the casual rustic crazy horse or buffalo leathers. https://thenoblebuffalo.com/products/1-5-black-horween-soft-leather-belt?variant=41170748833974   ..read more

Chocolate Leather!

New creation today is a belt from a "Double Shoulders" cut of cowhide leather. Double shoulders are significantly shorter in length than a full side of leather, but usually long enough to make belts for pants size 45" and smaller. Chocolate dark brown color, matte finish, and smooth top grain and suede side. Overall, fairly lightweight compared to some belts, nice color, and very sturdy.   Same type of leather as the Oak Brown and Chestnut Brown belts in the shop. Day 3 of new product creation. Today's belt is a softer leather and my first time working with Chromexcel from Horween. I was a bit worried the edges would fuzz on a soft leather like this, but that was not the case. Edges waxed and burnished very nicely. This came out comparable to the buffalo belts I make, possibly a bit stronger due to the thicker cut.   I'm super happy with how this came out. Already ordered the same leather in a Black and Brown roll, so should have more to show from Chromexcel in about 2 weeks.   A couple other notes about this type of leather. It's de ..read more

Looking for the absolute best strap of leather for your belt? A leather belt that will last 100+ years? Introducing the "Missouri Belt"! This leather starts off in Saint Louis, MO at the Hermann Oak tannery (established 1881). Hermann Oak prepares the raw cowhide using a vegetable tanning process and drum dyes the hides a deep black color. Next stage of preparation happens down in Springfield Missouri at the Springfield Leather Company. They are the largest leather distributor in the region.
