How To Easily Install Shim Gears on Spinning Reels! A lot of anglers aren't aware of uneven line height on spinning reels. Once discovered most don't know what to do. This is an issue that i never had to fix as i never suffer from uneven line lay. But recently a viewer to my channel was having issues of this on his spinners. I tried my best to explain what to do & realized i've never had to address this issue on my channel. Verbally. And it's hard to explain in words how to properly correct this issue. So i decided to do a video explaining what causes this & how to easily work throug ..read more

I Prefer Mustad Circle Hooks But Any Circle Hooks Will Work! If you don't keep a lot of your catches you should consider using circle hooks. Why? The shape of the hook will deter excessive damage to the fish & will make it easier to release. Most catch & release events encourages the usage of circle hooks. I was given for a special birthday a new center pin last year but have yet to decide on a suitable float rod to use it with preferably 14ft I will be using it on my clubs natural waters which contain Bream, Rudd, Crucian carp Roach, Perch, Tench consisting of three lovely pits and two big ponds. I want to match it with a good Quality rod and there's the rub what to look at . So can You help to narrow it down ? price is a factor but I am not afraid to spend if needs be ..read more

I know little about PW rods, other than from reviews and videos - and while I've no intention of becoming a dedicated carp fisherman, I'll be fishing a beautiful local lake during the closed season (and probably through the summer) and might buy one. - First: do I really need one? My only float rod is a 14ft Acolyte Plus and I gather a shorter rod would work better for PW fishing. - Second: do I believe the hype, or would any 11ft (ish) float rod do the (PW) job effectively - and therefore double-up as a nice little stalking rod for rivers? Budget under £100.00 - and tbh I'd be happy with a ..read more

Why Power Handles Differ Between Gomexus & Goture? Both Work!

Explaining The Similarities & Differences of Gomexus & Goture Handles! This is a costly addition to your initial reel purchase. Honestly? If your targeted fish species requires you to use spinning reel sizes 3K and under than keep doing what you're doing. But if you target larger species this might interest you. Ok, after you purchase your reel then you need a rod for it. Also you need to spool that reel as well. Then add on lures to hooks/swivels, leader material, etc. You get the picture. But after all that have you considered getting a power handle? First off you may only need a c ..read more

Daiwa Powermesh twin tip rods (current version)

I don't see many reviews or comments on the current Daiwa Powermesh twin tip rods. I'm interested in the 1.25lb version for perch and chub, bottom fishing - the tip options include carbon and glass, the latter being part of the appeal. As is the 'spare' tip - if one breaks you can keep on fishing. Anyone know these rods? Anyone compared one to a Drennan Twin Tip Duo 11ft 1.25lb? Thanks ..read more

But recently moved to Hereford so I have got the Wye so will be walking down the river and wanting to go lightish. But still able to fit basic table to re rig , hooklength box , spare feeders and leads, groundbait/ pellets etc and my lunch and a flask . So looking for recommendations ..read more

Unimat 1 Basic mini lathe for float making

I first made floats when in my teens. My friends and I found difficulty in finding suitable floats in the somewhat conservative tackle shops in the town where I lived. Mostly we made what are now called wagglers out of cork or balsa bodies and cane stems. Back then they were called duckers if unweighted and zoomers if the were weighted. Some of the later ones had peacock stems to increase their weight carrying capacity. Float bodies in cork or balsa could be bought ready made so it was more assembly and finishing than actually making although a few were made from balsa block as our skills impr ..read more
