I'm in the same boat, been running a artic cat bearcat 570 for a lot of years and I'm not man enough to wrestle it around anymore. I rode a brand new ski doo expedition 900 ace today and its a absolutely amazing machine but still to heavy to be manhandled. I think I'm going with the expedition with the 600 efi instead. Much lighter and plenty of horse power being a 2 stroke versus the 4 stroke. I really like how quite those 4 strokes are and not having to buy expensive oil sounds nice. Most cat hunters I know run the tundra and love them but they are very narrow so kind of a pain if u need to ..read more

I’ve heard good thing about the Tundra. I like the idea of the wider track on the vk 540 though. How do those expeditions do when you have to get off trail here and there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Statistics: Posted by parkernorth — Sat Feb 18, 2023 6:59 pm ..read more

I bought a set of Milestar Patagonias for my hunting rig this year. Only reason I went with them is I was able to order them on Ebay for the same price as the Good years I run on my Diesel and they’re 33x11.50 R16’s in load range E. I’m running 15 psi while hunting and 25 psi while driving on roads. My fuel mileage did drop a fair amount though. That’s to be expected when runnin a mud tire though. They’re quiet on the road and the’ve been a good all around tire so far. I’ve been doing a ton of snow driving and they’re doing pretty good. I’m driving in about 18” of old crusted, mealy snow and t ..read more

Hi all. I’m in the mountains of Colorado, and hunt mostly high country. I’ve been using an ‘04 arctic cat mountain cat for cutting and hauling dogs, but it finally gave up this season. What sleds do you all use to access the deeper snow and still haul dogs/gear? I’m considering the Yamaha VK 540 if I can find one new. Looking forward to your opinions and experiences. Thanks! I’ve had this system for quit a few years now and it seems to have lost a lot of its range. Only working about 100 yards now. I replaced the battery in the transmitter and did seem to help any. Any ideas? Thanks Statistics: Posted by Grizzhound12 — Sun Mar 14, 2021 3:10 am ..read more

More than likely your collars and receiver need updating. There is probably a you tube video explaining how to do it. Google it if that doesn’t work. I know the garmins have to be updated periodically. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Statistics: Posted by lawdawgharris — Sat Sep 18, 2021 3:28 pm ..read more

I just put on my third set of nitto trail grapplers They’ve become my favorite for sure. Long tread life and insanely aggressive off road. Pretty quiet on the highway also for what they are. My truck came with duratracs and I smoked them in about 11000 miles which I thought was pathetic. I hunt and guide full time all year in south west NM and this country will give you anything you can imagine when it comes to road conditions. One day dry sharp rock and the next day you have 10”+ snow to deal with. Sometimes 2 foot or more. Probably the only tire I’ll be running for awhile now. Sent from m ..read more

I’m trying my first set of Goodyear Wrangler Authorities. They’re an all terrain but have good gaping like a mud terrain. So far, they’re very good in the snow, mud and rock. They do fantastic in fresh snow. I usually don’t even need to put it in 4wd unless the snow is over a foot deep. They clean out well in the mud, our mud out here is grey clay that sticks worse than anything I’ve found. If they get close to that 55k mile mark, I’ll definitely be buying another set. I have them on my F350. I’ve got about 3,000 miles on them, at least 1,000 has been on BLM roads here in Nevada. They’re a 55 ..read more
