I’m preparing to do some overnight backpacking trips for the first time this year. What are some backpacking tents that you guys would recommend that won’t break the bank? Let’s say sub $300 or so. I’m currently looking at the Eureka Suma or Midori 2P. Thanks ..read more

Anybody use one of these? Any complaints? How do they stand up in wind? Hard to set up? It would be for 3 people and gear on an early september 6 day goat hunt most likely moving camp every day or two. Its on sale for $337 so relatively cheap and best of all light. I looked at the seek outside after some searching and its awesome but almost double the price. Im buying a bunch of new gear already to take the boys on a goat hunt so price is deffinitly a concern. My 3 person msr poppa hubba tent fabric coating has major flaking and stickyness everywhere and is no longer waterproof. Probably fix ..read more

Mentioned to my Brother when down south that our company now requires us to carry a back up knife in addition to our every day carry. Keep in mind these are weapons of last resort against dangerous wildlife. Knock on the door today and handed a box from my Brother (made it fast up here). Opened said box to discover this: Beautiful Damascus Blade of just over 7", stag horn handle and heavy cowhide sheath! Hell of a fine gesture on his part, and methinks this one may become the every day carry instead of back up. The Custom made blade I usually carry, present many moons ago from my Lady ..read more

Hi, Looking to replace my old zodiac inflatable for a fly in trip this year. I don't think its worth fixing up and is over 25 years old now. I have a 2.5hp Yamaha outboard that i need to be able to mount on anything i buy, and want something with a good weight capacity and around 10'. I was hoping for recommendations or comments on what guys are using and what they like. There are lots of options on the market these days and I am trying to compare some of the offshore brands with cheaper pricing to zodiacs or what i would have traditionally associated with high quality. This boat wont be used ..read more

Hi, wondering if anyone can offer some advice or explain what has worked for them. I have had problems with the following set-ups and looking for something that gets my spotter hooked up to my phone (or another device i would buy if necessary) quickly and with no or little adjustment. I originally tried the adapters for an older go pro, but that seemed challenging to get the focus right. There was no phone scope option for the iphone se with my case, and i was going on a trip with a friend and wanted versatility. Ended up with a universal phonescope mount, but the universal adapter is a bit he ..read more
