Shotgun Questions

Does anyone have any good recommendations on affordable semi auto shotguns that are versatile for upland, ducks, and turkeys as well as a local gun fitter? For several years I had a 12 gauge 870 wing master in the family that my uncle let me hang on to that I could powder clays and kill birds with all day but he eventually asked for it back during Covid (great timing). With store shelves practically empty, I had to settle on buying the Girsan Mc312. I’ve put several thousand rounds through... Read more ..read more

I’m considering a future center fire for my son and the savage axis ii compact in .223 seems like it would make a good starter for building form and hunting on the smaller game side (especially with our lead restrictions). Has anyone used and liked the axis ii? Anyone specifically used the .223 or compact models? Axis Compact | Hunting Rifle | Savage Arms The Savage AXIS Compact offers hunters and shooters a high performance rifle with a shorter stock without breaking the bank. Every AXIS rifle is loaded with features that deliver tack-driving accuracy with every shot. savagearms.com ..read more

Fellas I’ve worn Salomon for work and around the house but as of late quality has dropped. I’m looking for a new boot that is well ventilated for light work (chores around the house) ect. I love my Crispi’s and tried their lightweight Monaco but doesn’t fit the bill for work/house duties. What are you guys using ..read more

I picked up one of the Apache 9800 rifle cases from harbor freight while they were on special. Seems sturdy enough for the price. Any thoughts on how to configure the rifle in there? How do you guys with similarly sized cases set them up ..read more

Origin USA Review

I have decided to slowly make the switch to buying only USA-made hunting gear and clothing. This severely limits camouflage clothing options. I can only think of a few brands: Filson (well, some of their stuff), Forloh, and now Origin USA. I took the leap during a 40% off sale and picked up a few items from Origin USA. I wore it all the way through deer, dove, quail, and duck seasons. The comfort and fit of their stuff is fabulous. It's more of an athletic fit rather than a super baggy... Read more ..read more

Garmin vs LabRadar

After all the effort folks go to get consistent results from the LabRadar, finally Garmin enters the race. On the LabRadar I purchased a 3D printed sight, a remote trigger and always ran an external battery. I was skeptical and wanted to see what everyone was experiencing before buying the Garmin. After a lot of positive feedback I grabbed one. Wow is it impressive, such a welcome relief after struggling for so long. The market would pay well over $600 for this product I do...
