I’m back to posting YouTube videos! And the first episode back is part 1 of 2 of fixing the AutoXandTrack 1967 Mustang and all of the problems uncovered during the first track day with the car. At the start of this video, I have 5 weeks before the first every wheel to wheel race for both me and the car. Thrash time is on! During this episode, we fix the massive oil pan leak (turned out to be a cracked pan), break main cap bolts chasing mystery sludge in the oil pan, fix a broken bolt in the flywheel and reinstall the engine and transmission. Thankfully, my niece Sophie was back to help. The p ..read more

Vintage Trans-Am Racing

Created in 2022, Vintage Trans-Am (V-T/A) is a throwback to 1960s and 1970s trans-am racing without strict adherence to vintage spec or requiring a proven vintage pedigree.  V-T/A seeks to fill a gap in current groups where older generation moderately modified vehicles are left out.  These cars are often not allowed in strict vintage race groups and lack competitiveness against newer vehicles. Currently, V-T/A is a SCCA San Francisco Regional class which allows us to run on some of the best tracks on the West Coast. Including, Laguna Seca, Sonoma Raceway and Thunderhill. AutoXandTrack has been pretty quiet lately. This post is here to change that and report on some good news and bad news. The good news is that we got the AutoXandTrack 1967 Mustang running awesome just in time for race season. The bad news is that I took a hard snowboarding fall that dislocated my shoulder, broke my greater tuberosity bone and worst of all damaged 4 of the 5 nerves that control everything in my left hand, arm and shoulder. To learn more be sure to check out the YouTube episode! The post Good News & Bad News appeared first on AutoXandTrack ..read more

Brent Jennings and his Dad show what talent and determination can accomplish when building a car in a home garage. Brent’s pro touring 1964 Ford Falcon is not only a gorgeous build. It’s also full of some unique one off parts they designed and made mostly with simple tools. Brent and his dad bought the car in 1999 from the original owner and promptly started a complete build. Initially the car was build for straight line performance but with the rise of pro touring g machines in the mid 2000’s Brent switched to building a car that could corner like a sports car. Recently, AutoXandTrack got back to racing courtesy of Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car. For the first time, the event was held at the historic Willow Springs International Raceway (WSIR). Known as “The Fastest Road in the West.” It’s been three years since I’ve run at Willow Springs so I was looking forward to this event. Check out the AutoXandTrack YouTube episode here: Or keep reading to see how the event went. I’m getting caught up with the 67 Mustang build videos on the AutoXandTrack YouTube channel. For those unaware my “turn key racecar” turned out to be a lemon. Due to the poor rear suspension design and my experience with how well the TCI Engineering suspension works I made the decision to upgrade everything to TCI. AutoXandTrack is partnering with TCI Engineering and installing their Mustang pro touring IFS and rear torque arm setup. This will be partnered with the freshly rebuilt and revalved Ridetech tripple adjustable coil overs from the AutoXandTrack pro touring Camaro. 67 Mustang Build Pa ..read more
