Ecofina has been on fire lately. 4 man limit this morning. Put in at 9 and was loading boat back on trailer at 11:45. Probably threw back another 30 or so. Nice quick day on the water ..read more

Heading down Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Staying Beach side near the Cape entrance. Planning on surf fishing and doing some kayak fishing in the bay. May do a charter.
What biting down there?
I’m familiar with St. George Island, but not so much the cape
I need some Intel guys, spots strategies, etc. I am unabashedly cyber scouting!!

Starting off a 2 day fishing trip in two separate spots with a last minute notification that your meeting moved to a location an hour away from it's original location should have told me things were going to go south. But I made it through my day and managed to wrap up a little early to sneak out of the office and stay my drive to Tallahassee to use my Hilton Honor points for a room instead of giving my money to Shell island. I managed to make it a single block before this little adventure...

Just got back from Marathon FL. Took a charter to the Bahia Honda bridge to catch tarpon.
My dad hooked the only tarpon of the day on the trip but a hammerhead shark decided to have it for dinner while it was still on the line.
Saw a few other tarpon hooked or caught that morning but not many. Very windy ..read more

This fishing report is for all the Georgia folks that venture to the Northern Gulf. Especially 1eyefishing and Slow Motion.
Had a decent day yesterday. East of the lighthouse in between the rivers about 1/4 mile out. Even though it was a decent East wind at 1-2' I caught about 10 with five keepers. None over 20". A lot of small fished missed. The landing was clear and sky was perfect. A white Gulp with Yellow Tail under a CJ seemed to be the ticket for me. Didn't try much else as that...

The fish is a new species in the Georgia Saltwater Game Fish Program and no prior record existed. The records program committee, made of Department of Natural Resources (DNR) staff and biologists, approved the addition of the species Tuesday, April 9.
