Due to ocean conditions did not go down to Garibaldi until Monday the 4th. Started the week Tuesday fishing with my friend Todd in my Weldcraft. The coho bite was great. We left the dock at 6:30 a.m. and were back at 8:30 a.m. Would have gone bottom fishing, but the ocean was not that great, and the wind was forecast to pick up. Went down Thursday evening, my friends Jeff and Inna joined me Friday morning. We went out to about 240' off of Twin Rocks and started trolling SW, using Spinfish, Lemon Head Glow 4.0, with 12 oz and 23' on the line counter. The action was very fast and consistent, we had our 6 keeper coho by 10:00 a.m. It appeared the boats around us, there were plenty, were doing quite well also. Fished Garibaldi on Friday and Sunday, spent Saturday in Portland. On Friday, met my friend Rich at the dock at 5:30 a.m. We were stuck inside until about 11:40 a.m. The large tide had made the bar rough, and it was restricted to 32’ and under until then. We fished between the jetties, a little in the west channel, and made two passes in the Ghost Hole, not a bite. Went down on Thursday the 22nd and got an early start to fishing for coho Friday morning, fishing with my friend Troy. It was rough, some boats turned back at the jaws, although the bar was unrestricted. We ventured west, and hoped it would calm down as we got a little more west. Hello I’m new on the site I could use some help In the last 2 month I picked up shore fishing unfortunately the drive is far 1:45 one way! I haven’t had the chance to catch anything on my kayak or on land other then small Rock bass in Garibaldi cannon beach and sunset. I just came from Delaura Beach on Friday 6 hr of shore fishing and nothing any one recommendation will be pursued. Had my friend Chris come down on Thursday night. We got up Friday and went bottom fishing off of Manzanita. The fishing was very slow. We kept three canary fish, released a lot of small bottom fish and some very small ling cod. We did not get any ling cod this trip. We tried different reefs, depths and jigs. Went down Wednesday night, put the boat in the slip. My friends Todd and Jim joined me for a somewhat late start, about 8:30 a.m. Thursday. We headed north towards Manzanita. Found some nice looking structure and did two drifts, about 15 minutes each, not one of us had a bite. Time to move, we found another reef a little south, and must have dropped right on a school of black sea bass.
