So my annual Dwyfor pilgrimage in July was the first time I’ve ever blanked or indeed been faced with a river devoid of fish. Had a small spate on the first day but a dirty one but regardless of water I’ve never needed spates in July to be on fish wether it’s advantageous or not? Three nights followed by my giving up. Having replaced July with my once favourite month June I remember that there was various sayings about the timing of sea trout with the season that you could set your watch by.
