There are cocktails and there are classic cocktails. There are only a handful of drinks that have endured time, reconstruction, and parody to stand above the rest. In my opinion there are two cocktails that remain at the summit: the Martini and its great rival, the Manhattan. The origins of the Manhattan are a little mysterious. The popular view is that the drink was invented at the Manhattan Club in the late 1800s at a banquet hosted by Jennie Jerom, the grandmother of Winston Churchill. David Wondrich in his cocktail history ‘Imbibe’ provides a more appealing, yet imprecise view. Per William ..read more

Photography by Luke Alland There's nothing quite like an Alexander Kraft party at Pitti Uomo. There's nothing quite like a Plaza Uomo party at Pitti Uomo. So when the two combine, you're almost certainly in for a good time. The AK x EGM cigars were on hand to be smoked, and smoked they were. Such was the demand since its release, that this event marked the complete sell out of stock of the limited edition cigar! With queue stretching around the corner, lively music, a delectable spread, and some of the finest-dressed people in the world, it was a curtain raiser t ..read more

To celebrate the launch of Alexander Kraft Monte Carlo's first permanent location in London, Alexander Kraft hosted an evening at one of Mayfair's most prominent luxury tailoring destinations, Richard Gelding. Guests were treated to his signature Kraftonis, his latest clothing collection and, of course, the limited edition "Alexander Kraft Selection" EGM Cigars were in plentiful supply. In typical Kraft fashion, no event is complete without a show stopping classic automobile. Courtesy of RM Sotheby's, displayed in front of Richard Gelding for the evening was an absolutely ..read more

Black Tie Primer

As we step into the month of December, unlit Christmas decorations slowly begin to loom along the shopping streets of London. As the lights, trees and baubles proliferate, one feels that the end of the year is in sight. It is also a reminder that party season is almost upon us. Parties to celebrate successes, friendships, family. Parties as an excuse for jollification and the opportunity to dress up. For many men, dressing up means Black Tie. As the world retreats further from the classical strictures of suit and tie, Black Tie stands alone to remind us of a more elegant mythical period that ..read more

For many, the term tobacco has often been associated with cigarettes and therefore, riddled with negative connotations—particularly in regards to health and general well-being. Stripping things back a little, when we deal with pure tobacco, there’s much to be understood about its beneficial properties. For generations, indigenous communities within South America have understood this, and have been using the organic plant to treat ailments, improve and maintain health as well as for sacred religious practises. It’s important when discussing the use of tobacco today to see the picture beyond w ..read more

Why The EGM Bleco Is The Go-To Cigar
EGM Cigars Cuban Cigars Blog

The beauty of the cigar scene is that flavours, tastes and profiles are so wide-ranging that everyone's favourite cigar will often be something different. You might enjoy the Epicure No. 2 if you prefer light smokes. The Partagas 'Dog Walker' is for those that like taking their time with a cigar whilst strolling through the park. The Cohiba Behike 56 is so special that several counterfeits have tried (and failed) to replicate it, and the Romeo y Julieta Churchills has been a beacon of the Cuban cigar industry since time immemorial. The new kid on the block that's been going down a treat w ..read more

Photography by Robert Spangle and Dan Parry-Ingwood Alexander Kraft is a man of many talents and exceptional taste. It is no surprise to know that he is also quite the host. All those that attended his Tailgating Parties at Pitti Uomo can certainly attest. This year, the Sotheby's France Realty Rally took a selection of lucky gentlemen and women through the South of France—between Cassis, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille.  On hand for the rally were our collaborative cigars, the AK x EGM Robustos.
