This week we talked about the Lordship of Jesus. He is the beginning and the end, was fully man and fully God, sits on the judgment seat, and all of creation listens to His voice. To acknowledge Him as Lord, we must fully surrender to Him and recognize His authority and power. If we as Christian’s are surrendered to Jesus, listening to His voice and obeying, we will be unified. This week we talked about the benefits of being a Christian. On Oct 31st, I was watching little trick or treaters literally run from house to house. They were full of Joy and energy. “Why were they so energetic and happy in such cold weather?” I thought. This week we talked about what it means to be steadfast in the Lord, to stand firm, to be unwavering. When we keep our minds fixed on the Lord, He will give us perfect peace. When I remain in the Lord, there will be abundant fruit. In order to keep my mind on the Lord, be single-minded, I must trust Him. I trust Him, because He is an everlasting rock. He provides stability and security for me, a place of protection. John 15:14 says “You are my friends if you do what I command you.” If I truly know the Lord, I want to keep His commandments, I want to be His friend. I acknowledge who He truly is, and respond with surrender, honor, worship, reverence, and obedience. Obedience is honoring the Lord. If I want to know the things of God, I must fear Him. “Knowledge begins with respect for the Lord. But foolish people hate wisdom and discipline.” Proverbs 1:7.
