Check on DUI probationers finds one out of 48 misbehaving

On March 4, the Marin County Probation Department conducted countywide unannounced checks on local probationers who had previous convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  Probation planned a sweep of 48 DUI offenders’ residences to check on compliance with the terms of their probation. Five teams of officers from Marin County Probation and local law enforcement agencies searched the homes of 23 convicted offenders. California’s drought is over thanks to extra-big winter storms

Thanks to the big rains in 2023, the Bay Area and most of California are no longer in a drought.  The rain has improved California soil moisture, stream flow and the snow pack and most reservoirs in the state have refilled to above normal, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor, a weekly report issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the University of Nebraska.  The post California’s drought is over thanks to extra-big winter storms appeared first on Marin Local News ..read more

Otis Bruce Jr., the former No. 2 prosecutor at the Marin County District Attorney’s Office, filed a  racial discrimination claim against the county. He seeks $12 million in damages.
