We are strong, and still we carry fragility

How do you explain to someone who appears healthy and strong that they carry fragility inside? If you dare, I can reveal the hidden territories of your body that hold the key to unlocking its full potential.   I asked Francisco why this method hasn’t taken off in popularity yet. Why wasn’t he named King of Pandemic Yoga like Adrienne? I’m laughing inside just writing that. Those of us who have been working with Francisco closely know that he would think it was funny. I really don’t think Francisco wants to be known as a King, guru or anything that comes close to someone being worshiped ..read more

Choosing your focus: Use sensory perception to detach from emotional and physical pain

Regular Kaiut Yoga practice has profoundly influenced my daily life, especially how I perceive and manage anxiety. I've developed a noticeable skill in separating my anxious thoughts from the present moment. For example, a situation that frustrated me in the past was when someone at the grocery store took an extended time to get items out of their purse or wallet. It’s easier for me to create some distance from such situations, almost as if the camera's lens is zooming out, making the scene appear much smaller and less impactful. In moments like these, I experience a heightened sense of prese ..read more

'We all pee the same color'

Last weekend, I watched the movie Hidden Figures. It’s a movie based on the true story of three notable black women's significant influence to get a man on the moon. The quote above is a tribute to one of the powerful lines spoken in this movie. The leader in charge of getting the precise calculations for getting the capsule out of orbit hinged on the people on his team being able to work together. I interpreted it as pivotal: “If we don’t break down these belief barriers, we’ll never get a man on the moon!”  Recently, a new student came to try a Kaiut Yoga class. From my conversati ..read more

What I learned: São Paulo an important place to keep Kaiut Yoga science moving forward

It’s a 9-minute walk along a quiet street parallel to the busy one on which my hotel sits. Three times a day, over 11 days, I walk — free from stress and worry. I’m in Brazil, far from home, but I must realize this is my home, too. There’s something special about traveling to this place, where Francisco has chosen to continue his research and evolve this method that I’ve come to love and respect over the past seven years. The space he has created is free from distraction and entirely focused on supporting the critical work of designing, building, and maintaining a functional, resilient, and a ..read more

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. — Benjamin Franklin J.M. has been a student of mine for about 3 ½ years. He has practiced numerous high-impact sports in his 57 years, and with an analytical, engineering mindset J.M. thrives in fast-paced environments. He has a well-established and successful career in the accounting world. He enjoys time with his family and makes the most of his time off. Here’s what he has to say about the Kaiut Yoga Method: Kaiut Yoga has been a life-changer with regard to my pelvic floor pain. I’m no longer concerned about bladder incontinence or even my s ..read more

Rethinking "Abs of Steel" mindset

I recently asked one of my Kaiut Yoga teacher friends how this method has made an impact on her life. This is what she had to say: "Prior to working with the Kaiut Yoga Method, I wanted my abs to be “ripped.” I may be showing my age by saying that word, but what I mean is I wanted “Abs of Steel.” Ha! There I go again. I think you understand what I’m trying to say. I wanted a flat, strong stomach area. I wanted to look good in a bikini and just about everything I did in my daily life supported that desire. For many years I participated in activities I thought would help me train and maintain m ..read more

The Joint-ful-ness concept
Kaiut Yoga Austin Blog
by Renae Molden

Kaiut Yoga has a concept called Joint-Full-Ness. We don't breathe through or work with positive words to "Get Us Through." We do work with the joints in a very specific way. We do apply positive stress to the joints. We believe joints really like pressure. We do use the body in the way the body was designed to be used. One of the best ways to think about Kaiut Yoga is that every shape, every position and every sensation helps you access the intelligence of your system. The intelligence that breathes for you, beats your heart and heals your wounds. Everything you do has to support a restful min ..read more

Muscle tone gain starts with your brain

I took a few notes this week during one of Francisco Kaiut’s lectures. We all know the fitness industry has many, wonderful benefits. Francisco pointed out several differences between that industry and yoga, so I'm expanding on his comments and how Kaiut Yoga helps us in these areas. This Method can benefit every body, including the very young. The Kaiut Yoga Method is like wearing sunscreen. The young won’t wear it and those over 50 wish they had. “Going to the gym and doing Pilates disregards the intelligence of the body. The body is more sophisticated than that. You can get muscle tone fro ..read more

Reframing pain

You’re interested in a regular practice with Kaiut Yoga but something is holding you back. You pulled your shoulder …. again. And you don’t want to start practice until you’re feeling better. Sometimes our mind gets paralyzed with that reality. It's hard to understand that in order to resolve pain we have to see it, acknowledge it and allow it to have its own journey. Sometimes, we get stuck and fight for the body we have without acknowledging the possibility of a different outcome. We become closed to the possibility of living life in a different version of our bodies. After practicing for a ..read more

A new language to speak my truth
Kaiut Yoga Austin Blog

I’ve been learning a new personal skill and developing language around communicating that skill. I feel emotional pain as sensation in my body. When I can detach from the emotional piece and create a clearer connection between my mind and body I get some distance between the emotional response and what I experience as sensation. This gives me mental clarity I didn't have before. My prefrontal cortex then has a chance to make decisions more clear and intentional. It has taken me years to develop this skill and the words to communicate that skill to others. A well-known dialogue goes something ..read more
