I have this folder with old breakcore/jungle mixes and dj-sets from around 2005 and later, when streaming from SoundCloud or whatever wasn’t a thing yet. Recently someone on Twitter was looking for an old mix I blogged about, so I figured I might as well put the old mp3 mixes I have up on archive.org, so anyone can find and enjoy them. It’s been a while since my last Bandcamp friday posts, so here’s some stuff I bought since then that is worth checking out, if you’re into the harder kind of electronic music. Some beats I’ve been enjoying are First Light from Sleepnet and Enro from DJ Ride. These are on Vision, which is run by the lads from Noisia, so you know it’s going to be high quality. UK-based collective Nian Dub is making some really cool dark and dubby drum’n’bass on EXE project. I ran into them on Soundcloud and I recommend checkout out the EXE podcast Transmission 002 with Nian Dub and Semiotix linked below. There’s a bit of banter and chatting in there, but the tunes in between are awesome and you learn a thing or two about the lads. Oh yessss. The Dutch lads from Noisia are doing their own weekly Noisia Radio show of sorts and they are putting it on Soundcloud for free streaming and download. As you can expect from these guys it’s stuffed with great drum’n’bass, bass music, dubstep, electro, techno, game music… you name it (no not trance of course, who would do that anyway).
