We held a state-wide faculty forum on Monday, February 26, 2024, on new Work Experience Education (WEE) requirements and the integration of WEE into real estate programs. The goal of this forum was to hear about successful integration of WEE into real estate programs, overcome challenges, and develop new collaborative resources as a team to support student learning.
Panelists included Alana Gates (Santiago Canyon College) and Mary Ellen Brady (Cerritos College) hosted by Emily Maynard (CCCREEC Grant Project Manager).

The California Department of Real Estate will assign an approved course provider number for California Community College credit real estate courses. This will allow colleges to be included in the DRE website course provider search.
In order to complete this process:
1. A real estate faculty member or responsible administrator or dean can submit the sponsor ID approval request letter to the Department of Real Estate on official college letterhead. Email or mail the letter to the Education department addresses on the letter draft.

We held a state-wide faculty forum on the requirement in SB1495 that students have an “interactive participatory role-play” around fair housing scenarios. The goal of this forum was to share best practices and develop new collaborative resources as a team to support student learning as they respond to scenarios.
