Rodeo Rapid City in the books! Incredible. I am so honored to be apart of such an amazing week with a family that works around the clock to produce such a high caliber rodeo. Literally around the clock. Nothing better than 10 days in the same spot with all your people! The week was jam packed with all the things: prep work and correspondence with every moving piece, media interview set up, great food, reunions with the BEST people, stage shows with host Garrison Allen, the 1st annual Newlywed Game, so much laughing and of course rodeo. There’s no other way to describe it other than a beast all ..read more

Another NFR came and went in flash! I can’t believe that we are already headed into our second weekend at Rodeo Rapid City. Soon it will be February and we will be on the downhill slide of winter (thank God!). Where to even begin? We had such smooth travels when we went to Vegas this year. Not too cold, no ice, a little wind which is fairly normal when your traveling the prairie, and smooth roads home before the holidays. We took the Starched Podcast on the road with us to Vegas this year and it was so fun sharing that experience with our amazing friend Garrison Allen. The idea of Starched st ..read more

A Night to Remember

If you take Tyann on the road for 3 weeks and end the stay at the Nebraska State Fair, the same time as her beloved South Dakota State Fair (a story for a different time), she will have all the time in the world to conjure up something good. One more while watching the mini horse show (which I also decided is my retirement plan) I learned what Audible was, shopped for Christmas on my phone, brainstormed ideas for an event planning business, which in favor lead to the idea of a gallery event to celebrate my husband. Give a girl some time and look what she can achieve! The end of August is likel ..read more

6 Weeks of Summer

It seems like it was a marathon but after counting it out, it was only about 6 weeks. I can’t believe what we can pack into such a short amount of time. A trend of the summer was rain. Seems odd in South Dakota but I know that everyone was grateful for the moisture. We started the muddy madness at Crystal Springs Rodeo in Clear Lake South Dakota. I rodeoed most of the summers of my life and I do not remember the water like it was there this year. The photos? Perfection! So thankful for the committee at Crystal Springs who have turned into wonderful friends that open their home to us during the ..read more

Early Summer Run

It’s been nothing but go since the snow melted. So thankful for our small little break at home this spring and now it’s been nonstop. Early summer brought engagement sessions, a family trip and a couple weddings. It’s not very often we take the time to do a trip but my parents turning 60 seemed like the perfect time. We took in a Twins game with my family and it was a blast. The weather was a little chilly but we had an awesome time just enjoying each other’s company. Although the trip was for my parents I myself thoroughly enjoyed watching my niece and nephew love on the ball park. I’m defini ..read more

We headed west mid January for our favorite rodeo of the year. It’s hard to beat in the beautiful Monument Summit Arena with a top notch crew. Rodeo Rapid City was nothing short of amazing. All the laughs and the time together, make all the hard work and long days extra special I think for 2023 we are working to surpass what it is we have already done. Keeping our eye on the prize but willing to take some chances and switch up. At Rodeo Rapid City, I am the Sutton Rodeo Office Manager. I am honored they have brought me on the crew and it has given me a different perspective to all things prod ..read more

Is this a broken record?

It’s 11:34 on Saturday night. I’m sitting at the kitchen table listening to my dogs bark and procrastinating packing for our favorite rodeo of the year, Rodeo Rapid City. We leave tomorrow. A lot of people in the last few months have asked, “Oh it’s winter now, you guys are probably winding down.” “There are no rodeos up here in the winter, right?” “You made it! Now a break.” Wrong. We traveled to Vegas twice in two weeks. Once for the Indian National Finals Rodeo and back again the end of November for the National Finals Rodeo. Both humbling experiences and grateful for the opportunity, we al ..read more

What is an A Team?

Your A team may not be the best but they are your best. Read that again. Some people are given the world. The world to some is not the most talented, not the fastest or most athletic and some of them are not lookers. I grew up with a fire in my heart for horses. I honestly think you’re born with it in your blood as my grandpa was an avid horseman and my mama held her own in the rodeo arena. I was taught young that you have what you have and you deal with that and make the most of the situation. To me, sometimes try beats talent and fortunately that’s been one of the biggest lessons in my life ..read more

Here we are, already March! Time is a thief, isn’t it!? Hope this finds you well: healthy, warm and still reaching your New Years resolution goals (wink, wink). The last time we caught up we were just getting home from the Montana Circuit Finals, doing laundry to turn around and head to Rapid for Rodeo Rapid City. We finished up a couple weekends ago with Grand Island and somehow found ourselves at home. Rodeo Rapid City was a HUGE success. The Monument Arena is beautiful and Sutton Rodeo packed in the fans for 7 great performances. With a new building came new challenges but also some exciti ..read more

*tap*tap*tap*  Is this thing on? Anyone there? Can you hear me now?  So it’s been a minute. And I need to apologize for that. We hit the ground running and never stopped (until COVID stopped us in our tracks in Vegas). I want to be better in 2022 in keeping our village in the loop. Maybe more conscious about whats happening around me and relaying that to those around us that are so supportive!  Round 5 of the 2021 WNFR. 2021 brought growth, which with that comes some pains but all worth it. We were mostly humbled by every phone call, text, message and email that came through to ..read more
