Happy New Year! I firmly subscribe to the “tidy house, tidy mind” mantra and while I cannot fully control the whole house (my 4 year old does a very good job of ensuring she leaves her mark across much of the house on a daily basis with toys, jewellery, games and more trailing in her wake!) I most certainly can and do keep on top of my wardrobe. Having a well organised and tidy wardrobe is often the first step in taking control – of not just your closet – but also your style and much much more. It is a simple fact that if you cannot see the wood for the trees on the clothing front, then gettin ..read more

How to shop successfully…

How to approach the new season…   My usual blogs will give you ideas of styles to buy but it is really worth thinking about what you actually need/want before you start the shopping process. When the new season’s collections hit down in store it can be all too tempting to rush in and get buying. However, that approach often leads to buying pieces that stand alone and don’t necessarily work with your existing wardrobe, never mind the duplication with similar items you already own.   So to combat this, here is my guide to successfully navigating your way through the seasonal temptation ..read more

Pretty Little Thing

Let’s talk tops… because spring is the time when you are no longer living in knitwear (hopefully) and it can be easy to fall into the t-shirt trap. Don’t get me wrong – there is nothing wrong with a tee which is itself a key component of your capsule wardrobe. But you do need some other tops in your life too. And for me the styles that you want are versatile pieces that you can wear just as easily casually with a pair of jeans, trainers and jacket as you can with trousers and smarter footwear for the office as well as working into the evening. So in the spirit of creating a versatile wardrobe ..read more

Wedding season, event season and the season of general ‘dos’ is upon us so I thought I would put together a blog to give you some inspiration. This time I have focussed on a few brands which are go-tos and which may not be on your radar. In terms of trends – florals still abound; midi and maxi dress styles dominate although mini styles are creeping in. There is a lot of broderie, tiers are most definitely in and sleeves are a thing. Oh and don’t forget jumpsuits or even a trouser suit as an alternative to a dress. My real piece of advice would be to try to choose something that you will wear a ..read more

March is here, technically it is spring and the shops are full of new season stock…but it is still freezing outside and bare ankles feel a distant dream (for me at least). However, it is a good time to take stock and review your wardrobe before you hit the shops so you can shop mindfully and with purpose: identify the gaps as well as looking at what worked well in autumn/winter to ensure you have it covered for the new season ahead. One of the big things I am always asked about in spring is about layers to take you through this transition – because for most people it is firmly all about the co ..read more

With the party season well and truly upon us and fingers crossed an actual Christmas to celebrate with friends and family this year, my last blog for 2021 is packed full of ideas for what to wear and how to wear these well beyond the festive season. There are lots of lovely brands that I have discovered from Instagram and had the pleasure of working with, a discount code as well as high street heroes. For lots more styling ideas head to my Instagram to see my party wear reels which I have linked here. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CWC6-0XjgGf/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link https://www.instagram ..read more

It’s that time of year again … coats and boots are on the horizon. So as a follow up to last week’s IGTV on keeping warm while looking stylish, I have put together some of my favourite outerwear pieces for October’s blog. I always think it is a good idea to have a few options to choose from, particularly if you are outdoors a lot – pounding pavements on the school run etc  – as your outerwear and footwear is what people see. But don’t just stick to black or your trusty parka, change things up and you will find it refreshes your entire look. So have fun with different styles, colours, prin ..read more

Hello! Sorry it’s been a while but with the new season stock in stores, I thought I would kick off the autumn season with a subject that is very topical… And that is transitional layers for this in-between weather. It’s time to swap that denim/utility jacket for something a bit more substantial. First up a good leather jacket is a good idea. This is most definitely something you should invest in to get a lovely soft, buttery leather that will last you for years to come. All Saints is a good place to start for this and you will be able to wear yours over dresses, with skirts, trousers, denim ..read more
