I have been trying to make Sourdough!
I think I found a recipe that works.
About a month ago, I dove in and began my sourdough journey. There are 100’s, actually thousands of Pinterest recipes, micro bakers, novice bakers and professional bakers all with tips and tricks to making sourdough, and I read them all, watched the videos, and read blogs.
Let me tell you, it’s hard…
Its technical, scientific, precise and temperamental.
So many factors can change the result of a good loaf of sourdough. I’m sharing my recipe but do your own research and definitely watch videos ..read more

I wanted our first apartment to look cute and stated to hit the local thrift shops in 1990. The selection was not like it is today, but I was able to thrift the kitchen, get hand me down furniture from family that I fixed and painted and purchased clothing. Then I started selling, consigning items so that I was never really paying for anything. I was buying and selling a ..read more

We Have hit the middle of the summer.
It's the end of July and the beginning of August.
It still feels like summer but also hints a change of season. I have been seeing "back to school" shopping ads. For most of the country, kids go back in August. Even the colleges and universities in Boston start the new semester the first of September.
I don't really know why our school year is different from the rest of the country, but I think it was because of our tourism s ..read more

January Planning is In Full Swing
I love January. It’s a new year, new plans, new goals and all the possibilities. I start with a new, blank calendar, file away the previous year and begin brainstorming new ideas.
.
I start by looking at all the best sellers from the previous year, research trends in both home decor and fashion and then reach out to my suppliers to check in-stock products for creating.

January is a big month for the trade shows. LA, Dallas, Atlanta and NY are the ones I follow. I like to see how, what and looks trending. It’s just a baseline and jumping off p ..read more
