RESIDENTS and staff at Astune Rise care home in Eston, part of Popular Care, revelled in an unforgettable afternoon of music, dance and camaraderie at the Eston & Normanby Social Club. A MILESTONE has been reached at Cayton View in Scarborough, which will provide residential and dementia care and create 65 jobs locally. DOGS are man’s best friend, and residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Queen Elizabeth Court in Llandudno know this from experience. They have recently enjoyed a friendly visit from Chewie, a furry Leonberger, as part of a pet therapy session. The Leonberger is a giant dog breed, whose name derives from the city of Leonberg, in Germany. A BINGHAM care home held a “reassuring” Alzheimer’s Society drop-in session to help members of the community learn more about the reality of dementia. STAFF from Barchester Healthcare’s care homes up and down the country are taking on a gruelling 200 mile cycling challenge from Johnstown in Carmarthen to Wallingford in Oxfordshire to raise money for the operator’s Charitable Foundation which supports older people and other adults living with a disability or mental health problems by helping them to connect or re-connect with others in their local communities. RESIDENTS at Orchard Care Homes have used their immense experience as football enthusiasts to predict the Euro 2024 winner. And according to residents at three of their homes, this year is the year England will finally win. Not only that, nearly 100 per cent of those who delivered a verdict tipped England to take the trophy – with only one individual choosing Scotland to triumph. A LOWESTOFT care home is hosting an open gardening weekend in hopes of bringing the community together to makeover the garden – creating a space for residents and locals to enjoy throughout the summer. A MORAY care home has created a heartfelt tribute to the Scotland squad as they gear up for Euro 2024.  Speyside Care Home in Aberlour has written and recorded a stirring rendition of Flower of Scotland to inspire the national team ahead of the tournament.
