The Diocesan Sacramental Working Party works together to animate the Sacraments of Initiation policy for the Diocese of Rockhampton. The group works with Bishop Michael to provide advice and support to sacramental preparation teams throughout the diocese, ensuring that children and young people in our region have the opportunity to engage in programs which are engaging, inspiring, and which invite them to enter more fully into a relationship with Jesus and into the life of the Catholic Church. The XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, known as the “Synod on Synodality”, is underway at the Vatican. There is a large Australian contingent, along with representation from across the world.
This is a very significant event being held during October 2023, with another session in October 2024. Lay men and women will be voting for the first time at a Synod.
The Synod will help the Church listen more deeply to the Holy Spirit, please pray for its success.
