Okay, so who saw the news story recently that highlighted how office workers could look in the future? Terrifying!

Working on Balance and coordination is a really big part of Pilates. We often do single leg movements (unilateral training) and balance based exercises in classes as it builds functional strength and improves coordination. People are always surprised at how much they can feel the muscles in their legs and bum working just standing still on one leg!!!

November 30, 2021 Pilates is the exercise discipline that showed the most resilience throughout the ups and downs of the Covid pandemic. Their research shows that the public stuck with, or turned to, Pilates when other exercise disciplines were experiencing tougher trading conditions. The world is currently adapting and overcoming the challenges of Corona Virus. You may have noticed we moved our classes online not too long ago. It’s a strange time and although we’re still not sure when “normality” will return we have something very exciting for us all once this is over.
New BBodySmart Pilates Studio Location!
Still in Bury, in fact, just up the road from our current studio we have a new studio currently being built.

In an attempt to combat Covid-19 and the pandemic we have temporarily closed the doors to the studio. As you can imagine, that wasn’t easy but it’s the best decision to keep you, us and our families safe as we figure out what is unchartered territory for us all.
As we’re following the rule of self-isolating we’ll still need to move our bodies and keep our minds busy so to help us all to do that we’re moving our classes online. Pilates is an exercise choice which seems to be favoured by women. However, if we consider that Pilates was started by a man, Joseph Pilates – it’s been a training option for athletes, both men, and women, for over 50 years.
