Eurovision 2024 held its grand final this Saturday, where we learned that Nemo Mettler became the winner of the competition and the first non-binary artist to achieve this, also succeeding Celine Dion, the last winner of the Eurovision crystal microphone for Switzerland in 1987. With ‘The Code’, Nemo got more than 350 point from the jury votes, achieving the highest historical score. EBU has issued a brief statement informing that Joost Klein, the representative of the Netherlands at Eurovision 2024, has been disqualified from the competition because the Swedish police are still investigating the incident after the second semi-final. ‘While the legal process is still ongoing, it would not be appropriate for him to continue in the contest,’ says the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
