He tells me there could be benefits to the new flock safety cameras installed by the West Police Department. Bishop tells me a few things attracted him and his wife to West; kolaches, affordable homes, and

Were just bringing something to the community so that we can have something of our own, said Lastashia Brooks.
Brooks, one of the coordinators of the Hillsboro Juneteenth event, wants to keep the memory of Juneteenth and Black culture alive in Hillsboro.

"Were trying to develop a passion and a love for reading," said Shannan Canady, Waco ISD mother.
Waco ISD's first Over the Moon Reading event attracted families like the Canadys.
"I think the story time was really great for the kids," said Shannan.
Shannon said her sons have been excited about the event all week. But it was something else that captured her attention.
"We wanted to have the experience of meeting an author, a published author at that," said Shannan.
