They both look like puzzle locks. But are they really?
They’re actually more closely related to the old Chinese Ring puzzle than a puzzle lock. They are n-ary puzzles, a specific subset of the sequential movement group of puzzles. Many of these puzzles require a lot of moves to complete due to the recursive nature of the solution. But working out the pattern is part of solving the puzzle.
Lock 250 (250+ moves) and the Void Lock (300+ moves) are both n-ary puzzles but are solves quite differently. But in both cases the solution would have two states equating to on/of or 0 and 1 like ..read more

Great puzzle bang for your buck. This one is pretty hard to work out.
And unless you really understand this puzzle it will probably be more challenging to put it back together than take apart.
Designed by Jean Claude Constantin who has been inventing and making puzzles since the 1980’s. He invents all his own designs. Often known to invent over 50 puzzles in a single year! His work is very distinct and many puzzle collectors can look at a puzzle like this one and know that it is his design and manufacture. Many of his designs are eleborate and complex puzzle boxes but he’s st ..read more

The results are in and we’re very proud to announce that Brian’s Abraham’s Well puzzle was voted the Puzzlers’ Award in this year’s Puzzle Design Competition. The win is made all the more meaningful because the voting for this award is by the puzzlers themselves.

Congratulations too to all the other Award winners. The judges must have had a very tough time making their f ..read more

How great to see a new puzzle designed by Edi Nagata. As early as 2001 Edi was awarded the First Prize in the inaugural IPP Puzzle Design Competition for his Arrow Case and he followed that in 2002 with the even harder puzzle, Polo Shirt Case, winning the Grand Prize. That was one tough puzzle and caused quite a stir amongst collectors.
This puzzle’s many angles limit the movement of the pieces. Reminiscent of the Cast Coil also designed for Hanayama by Edi? You will need to use vertical, horizontal, diagonal and rotational movements to solve this puzzle. But in what o ..read more

Made specifically for IPP to represent the IPP logo in 2001.
180 made. Now sold out. Added to archive.
Original Price: AU$80.00
Brian created a completely new burr design for IPP. The puzzle was not used as an IPP exchange puzzle. Just a fun burr to represent the logo. It has 14 interlocking pieces and takes 13 directional moves to remove the first piece.
Brian also designed the original IPP Design Competition trophies. The basis of their design lies in this puzzle although a number of pieces have been changed to make it even more difficult.
The puzzle is presented in Queensland Si ..read more
