The shop is ready for Spring! We are already getting requests for gear for upcoming trips. As we move into warmer months, Janky Gear will want to prioritize taking gear and outdoor clothing 50/50. That means half the shop clothing and half gear. In seasons past, the shop usually has far more clothing but to better serve customers, we need to carry more quality gear. Be sure to email us at JankyGear@gmail.com to let us know if you have a bike you would like to consign.    Over the Spring and Summer season, we will have deals on bringing in hot selling gear. Janky Gear for the “non-outdoorsey” person
Janky Gear Blog

I am Paige’s mom, Marlene, and you may have seen me in the shop.  I have very important tasks like watering the plants, sweeping the floor, zipping jackets, and stamping the bags.  I also have “mom” duties like bringing in coffee, doing the dishes in the back room (and at her house), and taking Paige to dinner after work. I love to be outside but not in that “janky gear” way. I want to visit with friends, take a walk near a lake, eat on a patio, go for a boat ride, and sit in an Adirondack chair and have a glass of wine. And I am not a fan of Winter. My point here is that Janky Gear ..read more

We are gearing up for the holiday season. November 1st we will be accepting fall and winter gear, looking to keep the racks full through the shopping season.  Winter jacket issues to check before consigning: Check for tissues and dog poop bags in your jacket pockets. We automatically price the item lower if something gross is in the pocket. Check zippers. We can still an item with a pocket with a zipper issue, but we turn away items with the "main" zipper issues. Does the jacket have a hood or liner jacket that is missing? Columbia items are notorious for the removable hood and the ..read more
