Since the very beginning of our company, Lethal Lovebirds LLC has specialized in firearms training for women. Our first ladies-only classes began in 2015. We have learned so much about training through our professional experiences by working with women and children. The past weekend we were on the range for a class and I observed a few things I wanted to address in this blog post. I feel that they are really relevant to the work that we do in our concealed carry classes for Oregon and Utah, but also the range-type training that we provide. Guns can be scary; they can be intimidating. This is a ..read more

A Prepared Mindset

There is a saying that an “ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” I believe that this is true in many different facets of life. It could mean having a medical kit inside of your vehicle. It could mean having a fire extinguisher inside of your home. I mostly think of this when incorporating a firearm into your daily routine. In this blog post, I will talk about the many different aspects of the prepared mindset. I will preface this by saying that you are NOT or should be NOT looking for a gunfight while lawfully armed in public. The entire reason that I carry a gun daily is to ensure th ..read more

We often get a lot of questions about why you teach Oregon and Utah Concealed Carry classes. This typically is from those who may need to become more familiar with the process. In this blog post, I want to break it all down in a way that is easier for you, the reader why we teach an Oregon concealed carry class and a Utah concealed carry class. Plus the differences between them both. We primarily start with an Oregon concealed carry class. This is required training under ORS (Oregon Revised Statute) for anyone who would like to be able to apply for a CHL (Concealed Handgun License) in the stat ..read more

What I learned from being disarmed in California

The past weekend we had the opportunity to travel south to San Diego to do an event with the Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation. We were at a gun show and set up our BB gun range to reach the local community. We taught gun safety to children there. Since we were in California, I didn’t have a way to carry a firearm, concealed, legally. All because I didn’t have a “permit!” When I am in my home state of Oregon, I carry a gun everywhere I legally can, period. Being disarmed by a policy in a state that arguably has a crime problem was definitely a hard pill to swallow. One thing that I always stress in our ..read more

We are currently living in uncertain times. The economy is slowing, inflation is out of control, and a part of society feels like they are above the law. This is in part because of a few things that are working against us, the law-abiding gun owners. We have law enforcement at capacity, all while being understaffed. Crime is rampant. Drug abuse in public is common. Have you ever thought about what this all means for you and your family? Well, unfortunately, it could eventually lead to a matter of life or death. This might seem outlandish for some but for others, this could be a reality. One of ..read more

As the seasons change so can your capabilities for personal protection. In this blog post, we will talk about the many benefits of why colder weather is good for your safety. I want to preface this post by stating that the things that I will talk about are lifestyle and budget-related. Often, some will start by only buying one gun for concealed carry. As they gather more confidence and experience they will upgrade to a larger framed gun. They focus on the types that are typically smaller and easier to conceal. The smaller guns can be harder to shoot effectively, hold less ammunition, and have ..read more

It is the start of 2024 and we are back in State court over in Harney County today. There was a hearing regarding the previous ruling from Judge Raschio, that came out back at the end of November. I have published numerous blog posts over the past year and a half about Measure 114. Since the very beginning of this process. I have set out to present all of the information about this fatally flawed from the angle of a gun owner. One of the hardest parts about this story is how the entire measure has been represented as a benefit to Oregonians by supporters, the media, and the attorneys trying th ..read more

What Being Prepared Looks Like

The biggest component to being responsibly armed is having the mindset focused on preparation. This blog post will discuss what it is to be prepared. Preparedness is a mindset and a lifestyle. As gun owners, we incorporate a firearm into our daily routines to mitigate risk. I hope this post will spark thoughts into any gaps you may have in your life. It may be redundant for some because they might already be practicing in their lives. What we need to realize is we are on a precipice, we are on the edge of increased violence and division. Being prepared for the future is critical. We are witnes ..read more

We are living in perilous times. Law-abiding citizens are facing attacks on a couple of different fronts. The first front is from criminals who don’t fear prosecution and seem to operate with impunity. The second front is from politicians who seek to make it harder for the law-abiding to be able to defend themselves or their families. This is a perilous precedent that is currently being set. The data will support that MORE guns in public in the hands of the “good guys” is a good thing. There is a big push right now by the prohibitionists to restrict our ability to carry guns into different loc ..read more

The past year has been a roller coaster of emotions, ever since Oregon voters narrowly passed Measure 114. I have written a few other blog posts telling my “truth” about this bad piece of legislation. I have chronicled my journey to get the information I needed to paint a picture for the public. My goal was to tell the story of Measure 114 so that the average gun owner could understand and feel like they had a voice in the process. I met so many people in my travels, and they all helped contribute to this blog post. I want to start by saying that we were victorious! The Judge from Harney ruled ..read more
