MESQUITE - September 17, 2021 - On October 1, the City of Mesquite will begin enforcing changes to its Solid Waste Ordinance to address loose trash and litter in neighborhoods. The changes include requiring solid waste customers to place trash in a secured bag and place the bag in a trash can. Time limits on when trash and bulk items can be placed for pick-up will also be enforced. MESQUITE – October 10, 2021 – The Mesquite City Council, at its October 4th meeting, approved an advanced funding agreement for the Lawson Road Highway Safety Improvement Program Project. The agreement will authorize funding and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) participation in the project. In April, the city announced the award of a state grant of $471,930 for the project. The project will add a three-foot shoulder and guardrail on both sides of Lawson Road from 1,635 feet south of East Cartwright Road to 2,885 feet north of Milam Road.
