We were lucky enough to provide equipment for over 200 Drive In’s last year during the pandemic. 2020 certainly was a year to which most were glad to see the back of. Is 2021 going to be another year of Drive In for us and the industry as a whole? We were lucky enough to run almost 250 Drive Ins here in the UK between the end of June and 23rd December, some of which certainly tested us (see picture below)! Normally, mid August we are here working all the hours god sends and December is our time to recoup slightly. That is certainly not the case this year! When 2020 started off the way it did, we thought that it was our season written off. How wrong we were! We have been pretty much fully booked with our Drive In setup from June up until now, and going forward until the end of October. We have been quite lucky that a lot of our events have been close to home which is unusual for us as we normally spend most of our time on the motorway! Drive In Run Date We have obviously been in the same boat as everyone else for the last few weeks, waiting to hear when we can get back up and running. From speaking to local authorities, licensing and government bodies it seems that Saturday 4th July is going to be the date Drive In can run, albeit under very different circumstances and we CANNOT wait! Government Announcements We are all still in uncertain times, however, due to everyone’s determination we are moving in the right direction, so much so, we now believe we are now allowed to run Drive In’s in the very near future! Due to the Governments most recent announcements non essential travel is now permitted, as long as social distancing measures are maintained. This opens up Drive In’s as an event which is allowed.
