When USA Basketball finalized its men’s roster for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, it decided to personally deliver jerseys to all the players and formally ask them to be on the squad.
Former NBA star Grant Hill, who has been the managing director of the USA Men’s National Team since 2021, visited each player to tell them the news.
The idea created some pretty cool moments, including trips to Boston Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday’s homes.
Check out Hill meeting both players in the video below:
Tatum and Holiday also were on the Team USA roster that won the gold medal at the 20 ..read more

There’s a good chance the Celtics will face either the Sixers or Heat in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs. To which I say: bring it.
Playoff Jimmy? Bring it. A healthy Joel Embiid? Bring it. All-Stars Bam Adebayo and Tyrese Maxey? Bring it and bring it.
After winning 64 games and running away with the NBA’s best record, the Celtics shouldn’t fear anyone in the first round. They should in fact welcome the challenge of either the defending conference champs or the reigning MVP.
Only a loser franchise would “hope” for the easier matchup of Chicago or Atlanta. The Celtics are out to make ..read more

There hasn’t been a whole lot to nitpick with the 2023-24 Boston Celtics.
They posted the best offensive rating in league history, finished with a net rating that was 4.4 points better than the next closest rival, and piled up 64 wins. A Celtics team that sometimes looked past inferior opponents in previous seasons did a much better job of keeping its foot on the gas pedal while racing away from the pack.
The Celtics even managed to keep their entire roster upright to the finish line of the season and should be at full strength when they tip off first-round play by hosting the to-be-determined ..read more

A new chapter in one of the NHL’s best rivalries will be written in the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs when the Boston Bruins square off against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
This will be the fourth time these Original Six franchises have met in the first round in the last 11 years. The Bruins emerged victorious over the Leafs with Game 7 victories in 2013, 2018 and 2019. All three of those clinching games were played at TD Garden, and if there’s another Game 7 this year, it’ll also be in Boston because the B’s once again have home ice advantage in this No. 2 vs. No. 3 matchup.

We still don’t know who the Boston Celtics will play in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs. But we now know when.
The NBA released dates and times for all first-round series Tuesday night, including the No. 1 seed Celtics’ matchup with the No. 8 seed. That series is set to begin Sunday, April 21 at 1 p.m. ET at TD Garden.
Boston’s opponent won’t be determined until Friday after the NBA play-in tournament concludes. The No. 7 seed Philadelphia 76ers host the No. 8 seed Miami Heat on Wednesday night in the first round of the Eastern Conference play-in, with the winner securing the No. 7 s ..read more

The Boston Bruins spent most of the 2023-24 NHL season atop the Atlantic Division standings, but they ultimately finished as the second-place team.
The Bruins lost 3-1 to the Ottawa Senators in their regular season finale Tuesday night at TD Garden, giving them 109 points (47-20-15) in 82 games. The Florida Panthers leapfrogged the Bruins for first place with 110 points as a result of their 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.
Finishing second in the division might not be the worst outcome for the Bruins because instead of playing the battle-tested Tampa Bay Lightning in ..read more

The injury bug continues to bite the Boston Red Sox.
Right-hander Garrett Whitlock was pulled from Tuesday’s start against the Cleveland Guardians after 54 pitches with what the team announced as left oblique tightness. He pitched four innings before the injury, allowing two earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one.
The severity of Whitlock’s injury is currently unknown.
The silver lining is it isn’t an arm injury. Whitlock missed 27 games early last season with right elbow ulnar neuritis and another 32 games later in the campaign due to right elbow inflammation. He und ..read more

The New England Patriots have primarily been linked to three quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft: UNC’s Drake Maye, LSU’s Jayden Daniels, and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy. On Monday though, another signal-caller entered the conversation.
Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. met with Patriots brass and coaches for dinner, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. While this doesn’t necessarily mean New England is seriously interested in the 2023 Heisman Trophy runner-up, it indicates the organization is at least open to the idea of trading down from No. 3 overall and selecting him or another second-tier QB ..read more

Later this month, the New England Patriots will make one of the most critical draft decisions in franchise history. They’ll have a chance to select their next franchise quarterback with the third overall pick — their highest since 1993 when they took QB Drew Bledsoe No. 1.
All signs point toward the Patriots picking either UNC’s Drake Maye or Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy if they stay at No. 3. While there’s widespread debate over which signal-caller they should choose, our Tom E. Curran believes it’s irrelevant if the situation around their next QB isn’t up to par. If the next Patriots quarterback ..read more

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy has entered the picture as a legitimate option for the New England Patriots with the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Patriots will likely choose between McCarthy and UNC’s Drake Maye when they’re on the clock in the first round. That is, of course, barring a potential trade down the draft board.
McCarthy is undoubtedly the more polarizing of the two QBs. Although the 2024 national champion has a winning pedigree, there’s skepticism about whether his style of play will translate to the NFL.
