PATRIOTS VS. CHARGERS- WIN OR LOSE, WHAT I WANT TO SEE

Similar to last week, I'm still perplexed on if I want the Patriots to win or lose this week.  Do I want a high draft pick since it's been a long time since we've had one?  Absolutely.  Would I prefer to lose today so we can try to beat the Chiefs, Bills, and Jets?  You bet I would.  Regardless of winning or losing, if the following things happen, it's a win in my book. OFFENSIVE COACHING- I don't think Bill O'Brien is the problem.  The guy has shown that he can strategize and coach the offensive side of the ball in the NFL.  The people who are begging ..read more

ARE THE PATRIOTS HOLDING OPPONENTS BELOW THEIR AVERAGE POINTS PER GAME?

This season it has usually felt that the Patriots defense has been holding their opponents below their average.  Curious if that was true, I decided to look into it. Process-  Since they've already played these games, I wanted to pull out the points they scored against the Patriots to give a true comparison.  After determining a team's true offensive output, I compared how many points they scored against our defense.  This meant that I didn't count defensive touchdowns or safeties.  For touchdowns I went with 7 points although Dallas did go for 2 and got it.  ..read more

NO, THE PATRIOTS DIDN'T RUIN MAC JONES

Chances are you've heard someone say that the Patriots ruined Mac Jones.  More specifically you might have heard that Belichick ruined Mac.  Regardless which version you've heard, it's completely off base.  No one "ruined Mac Jones".  In reality Mac has gotten further along in his football career than he should have.  He is now in over his head and it's painful to watch as a Patriots fan.  So, how did he get selected in the first round if he isn't even good enough to make it in the NFL?  Mac got to where he is from a combination of three things: hard work ..read more

HOW THE PATRIOTS CAN SCHLAGE DIE HENGSTE

In order for the Patriots to secure a victory in Germany they'll need to punkten (score points).  Unlike most recent games, 25 points might not be enough to beat the Colts. PUNKTEN- Although they also have a losing record, the Colts are averaging 25.8 points per game this year.  That is more than one touchdown more than they averaged last year (17 ppg).  This Colts' high point total is the result of a consistent offensive output.  Their lowest offensive output came against the Jaguars when they scored 20 points.  Since that anemic offensive showing they've scored 38 ..read more

Thirteen years ago the premier celebrity bowling tournament in New England was called the Mayo Bowl as it was hosted by The Patriots’ very own Jerod Mayo. While the event has gone through several name changes based on the host, it’s purpose and fundraising efforts have never been stronger. As of last year, the event has raised over 3.6 million dollars for the Boston Medical Center. This event is just one of many annual events the BMC hosts to help raise needed funds for the great work they do. While his name is not attached to the title, the host of this year’s event has been on two Super B ..read more

CAN BILL DEVELOP A PLAN TO TAKE DOWN THE BILLS?

I'm sure that the Patriots' coaches have drawn up a game plan which can get them a victory today.  Of course, regardless of how great of a game plan they've developed, it all comes down to executing it.  That has been the major problem with the Mac Jones led Patriots. Ever since Belichick developed a crazy game plan to beat the Bills in Mac's rookie year, it seems like the offense has routinely been unable to "execute" on a regular basis.  Last year's lack of consistent offense was consistently blamed on the Patriots' offensive coordinators.  It was then blamed on Belichic ..read more

SINCE WE WILL ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, CAN WE GET A WIN

The Patriots have scored a combined 3 points in their last 2 games.  Even if they played the other football (soccer), they probably wouldn't have won either.  So, besides actually scoring some points, what are the other things the team needs to do to win?   PLAY WITH A LEAD- Yes, this is asking a lot I know.  The only game we've actually held a lead in was the game we won against the Jets.  Should the Patriots actually win the coin toss they need to take the damn ball and stop this deferring to the second half bullshit.  We rarely score to begin with, so ..read more

HOW THE PATRIOTS CAN AVOID THEIR 4th LOSS IN 5 GAMES

Through four games the Patriots have scored a whopping 55 points.  That's just not going to cut it in the NFL.  While the depleted defense is still is still holding their own and ranked top ten in most categories, to the naked eye it looks like they still give up a lot of points as they are currently 21st with 24.3 points given up per game.   If we take out the three touchdowns Mac handed on a silver platter to our opponents, then we are at 19.05 which would put us in the top 10.  If you think that those are fluke instances and Mac shouldn't be to blame, you might che ..read more

A LOOK AT ALL OF THE "BAD TURNOVERS" FROM THE MAC JONES ERA
Boston Sports Chick

A few weeks ago I posted about all of the games the Patriots would have won in the Mac Jones era if they had scored at least 25 points.  While gathering that data I was also paying attention to all of the games where the Patriots had a horrible turnover which inevitably resulted in a loss and typically assisted their opponents with scoring 25 or more points.  While I've attempted to put this other data to words several times in the last week and a half, I struggled with how I wanted to present it.  After Sunday's horrible showing, I've decided to just put the information out the ..read more

MCCOURTY TWINS CONTINUE TO BRING PHILANTHROPY TO NEW ENGLAND

While they might be retired from the game, Devin and Jason McCourty continue to support the Boston Medical Center and Next Step with their annual Tackle Sickle Cell Casino Night. This year’s event was held at the Putnam Club inside Gillette Stadium. In my opinion this location was much better than going to Boston. Getting in and out of Foxboro is pretty easy as long as you aren’t attending a game or a concert. Vertex was once again the main sponsor of the evening. Besides getting to play some table games for fun, attendees also got a chance to bid on items, mingle with athletes, and ..read more
