Yes, a perfect example that we like to offer to our clients to repair a shower, re-grouting, re-caulking, is approximately $500. When you have to repair beyond repairing, what you would have to do is remove all of the materials, install cement board, put the tiles back. You’re looking at anywhere between $5,000. It’s really up to the customer to think what is the best benefit for them, either the repair at that time or replace. And I always offer my assessment what would be the best for the client. There is several things that you could look at as far as either repairing, replacing. What we try to offer, our best solutions, like I would mention is I don’t just do estimates, I educate. It’s really solely in the eye of the client. If they feel it’s time to replace the floor or what, we would give them a opportunity to repair if needed. If the floor is very soft, what we call the underlayment, is getting soft and really separating and you have a lot of loose and broken tiles. At that time I would offer my assessment that probably would be time to replace the floor. We also offer that servi ..read more

When you have damaged tiles, a rule of thumb, when I go to a client’s home. If the grout is missing, cracked or voids, what I usually do is do a knock test that usually tells you the tiles are shifting from the subfloor. When we do have clients that have crack tiles, usually what were called teeter tottering, it shifts the tiles and you could crack it in a particular area of the tile. We are not a tile company. However, we do offer a great service of two things. If the tile is just loose, we could do a bonding process. If the tile is actually cracked, there’s not really a good way to put the ..read more

There’s three types of tiles you mostly find in client’s home. One is porcelain, two is ceramic. Those two tiles are manmade. They’re made in factories. They always have a seal porcelain finish on the top. Those tiles should only be cleaned and never sealed. The top tiles that must be sealed are natural stones. Some of them are as followed marble, slate, travertine in a lot of the other products, like a limestone, they should always be sealed. When you take a shower, each time you take a shower with heat and humidity and water, it does continue to thin out the sealer. You should always seal y ..read more

We always offer great solutions. After we do the work, we always offer any kind of cleaning products that customer might not need to use or should use. One important rule of thumb is whenever you have natural stone, you should only use natural stone products. You never want to use anything acidic. Vinegar products or anything that has acid that could etch your natural stone. That’s a great question. When our clients have remodeling, new remodeling in their bathrooms, contractors usually do not caulk the intersections in around the tub, or around the shower pan. It is very important always to have silicone whenever it’s hot and cold. It will have some variations, especially outside wall showers, in tub showers that you might have some movement from the outdoor elements. You should again.
