Two further seasons have passed since I last gave an update on my save. This isn’t a seasonal blog post, but more of a general overview of the progress I’ve made. Lets not piss about, read on! Competitions I’ll start with the TL;DR, you’ve got shit to do. Three League Titles Two Super Cups One FA Cup One Champions League Group Stage appearance The long version is that we’ve done well. I chose Dinamo as my team for this save as they’d narrowly avoided relegation last season(IRL) and generally been on a downward trajectory for the past few years. So far we’ve managed a clean sweep of titles. The ..read more

Hello, welcome to the first of what will probably be about three FM21 posts on fmpressure.com. It’s day 321 of probably the worst year in living memory. Think it’s bad now? Strap yourself in as it’s shaping up to get worse by the inevitable influx of FM Content that is going to be released over the remaining 44 days of this pandemic year. Yet here you are, tucking into another FM blog… num num num! So what have we got coming up? Well, I’ll give a quick opinion on FM21, talk about the team I’ve decided to manage and what to expect to not be on here for the coming weeks and months. FM21 So Far I ..read more

In my first blog of FM23, I had a very quick look at the challenge ahead of me at Auxerre and what I hope to achieve. This time out, I’m looking at the challenges I often face when starting a save. I’ll look at the progress I’ve made so far and outline where I hope to be by the end of the second season. No messing, lets get into it. New Team, Same Problems Every new manager at a new team wants to leave their own mark on their squad. When I take over at a newly promoted club in a league that isn’t flush with cash, I know I’m going to struggle. We’ve seen teams in the English Premier League spen ..read more

It’s time. It’s time to go back. People say never go back, never go back to the scene of past glory. But it’s the right time. Auxerre are back in the top division for the first time in 10 years and I want to have a go at turning them into one of the big clubs in France. If you are one of the long time readers of the blog, then you’ll likely remember my old saves with Auxerre on FM16 and FM17. That seems like a lifetime ago, but it was probably my favourite two saves I’ve had on FM. Perhaps over time, I remember them more fondly than I should, but the youth development was excellent and I was a ..read more

Admittedly, I wasn’t sure if I was going to write more blog posts. Not because I couldn’t be bothered or didn’t want to, but because I’ve been really enjoying my time with Torino. I’ve just been ploughing through the seasons. Bringing You Up To Speed I had started writing this blog at the start of the 2029/30 season, but as mentioned above, I was really enjoying the save. I just wanted to spend my FM time playing the game. It’s now the end of the 2030/31 season and I think that’s actually going to be my final season on this save. There’s plenty of reasons why and I’ll get into them as we go th ..read more

Every November for the past three or four years, I’ve said “I promise to write more blogs” I then write three blogs and don’t write any more because I play very quickly and can’t really be arsed. No bullshit this year, I’ll see what I can be bothered doing. If I write, cool, if I don’t, also cool. Don’t get too invested as I might end up getting bogged down with real life. So, lets get into my post. Why I’ve Chosen Torino I sort of threw my usual method for picking teams out of the window for this years save. I tend to look for teams that have a nice stadium that have fallen down the pecking o ..read more

After five years of sustained success with Dinamo Bucharest, it’s time to depart for pastures new. A lot has changed, so what better way to sign off than to look over what has been achieved and how I went about it. Finances Everything done at a football club involves finances at some stage, be that upgrading the club facilities, hiring your backroom team or making that all important signing… lets not forget, sponsorship, tv deals, prize money and players departures. There’s not much you can achieve without capital. Dinamo had hardly any starting capital. There was money to spend, around €200k ..read more

Only one more blog to go after this and I’ll have hit my three blog limit. I said in my last post that we’d see a lot of FM content being released around about now, so I’m riding that wave. It’s all about getting hits, right? I’ve gone through a season with Dinamo now so I’m gonna have a look at how the season turned out and what I’ve enjoyed about the game as I’ve been playing. Gameplay Recently when I’ve been playing FM, I’ve not been playing it because I’ve been enjoying it, but playing out of habit. Something to do to fill the time between jobs at work or at home. It meant I was spacebar b ..read more
