Critics, journalists, judging panels and wine-lovers alike have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback for the 4th vintage hailing from our block of certified old vine Chenin Blanc. Our Chenin Blanc Single Vineyard 2020 was crowned the 2022 Trophy Winner for the Best Old Vine Wine in South Africa’s most prestigious wine competition, The Trophy Wine Show! At the awards ceremony, our winemaker, Kiara Scott, received the Rosa Kruger Trophy for the 2020 vintage, which took Gold with a top score of 97/100 placing it first in its category. Every year, we eagerly await to see how harvest unfolds. No two vintages are the same, and where Mother Nature is concerned – you can prepare and plan to your very best ability, but she can throw in a curveball at any time. Luckily, our team is ready for whatever she throws at them in 2022. For the second consecutive year, we are elated to have received the coveted nod from Tim Atkin for our Chenin Blancs. Both our Chenin Blanc wines were scored above 90 in the 2021 report on South African wines, compiled by the renowned British Master of Wine, wine judge and commentator. Our flagship, the Brookdale Chenin Blanc (2019), retains a solid rating of 93 for the same vintage judged by Tim Atkin in 2020.
