This job is a great example of the way a modern single ply flat roof system can be ideal for an older property in terms of performance whilst really updating the appearance of the property without looking out of place. Our customer had a large old extension at the rear of their property, the tiled roof had become quite damaged and the timber sub structure also needed to be replaced. We needed a suitable solution to construct a new low incline roof that would last for years & be a credit to the property. Tiles are not an ideal solution for a roof like this, the incline is too low and it wil ..read more

This generously sized double garage in a rural property just outside of Maghull had a fully felted roof. It had been gradually failing for a a while. The drainage was insufficient and some serious pooling was occurring. There was some damage to the substructure and it was time to do something about it. After surveying the roof in detail & taking some time to talk it over with our customer, we planned to install a new flat roof. The roofing solution we’d chosen was a single ply membrane fully adhered system from Armourplan. This comes with a 15 year guarantee and is likely to last a lot lo ..read more

This was an unusual and interesting job. We were called to a 200 year old schoolhouse being converted into a fabulous home. Part of the renovation works involved installing an indoor swimming pool (it’s okay to be a bit jealous) which of course needed a high performance flat roof. A flat roof that matches the style of a 200 year old building As you might imagine, appropriateness was a big part of the planning requirements for restoration of this sandstone listed building. We had to plan a roof that would be discrete, tidy and match the dark slate roof tiles found on the high-incline parts of t ..read more

We visited a customer in Orrell, Wigan to look at their felt flat roof that had begun failing as the winter months drew near. It was important that we completed the work quickly with the weather getting colder and wetter but they also wanted to continue using the space below the roof as much as possible for their home business. They were looking for the most cost effective solution possible but understood that investing in a more modern roofing system would be cheaper than felt in the long run. Flat roof overlay system installed in Wigan We surveyed the roof and found that an Armourplan PVC me ..read more

Our latest flat roofing project took us to the town of Maghull, Merseyside to install a new flat roofing system for a domestic roof. Now, we know it’s not the best news to have someone say that you need a new roof, but when your GRP roof decides to fail, you have no option so while you’re there it’s always wise to think of other flat roofing systems that provide you with more reliability at a reasonable cost. That way you can hope it doesn’t fail next time. Domestic Flat Roof Installation in Merseyside There are many factors that contribute to a damaged flat roof beyond repair, and most often ..read more

In the UK, there are many residential and commercial owners that have made the switch and invested in flat roofing systems. As required by legislation, flat roofing materials are tested to confirm their fire rating and to ensure they are suitable and safe to use. There are many different types of felt roofing membranes such as bituminous, cold liquid or synthetic material. These are installed over a thermal insulation board, Polyisocyanurate (PIR) being the most common due it’s thermal resistance. This enables buildings to be kept warm in the winter and cool in the summer. While there are many ..read more
