Christina Marmet was a synchronized swimmer for 12 years. She swam in France for eight years before moving to the U.S. for university and continuing her synchro career there. In July 2016, she founded Inside Synchro to create a "one-stop shop" about the sport. She aims to bring the best coverage, features, interviews, and databases for all the synchro-nerds and casual viewers.

Most of the world’s top artistic swimmers have converged on Paris to compete at the second World Cup of the season scheduled, starting on May 3. This World Cup also doubles as a test event in the newly built Olympic Aquatic Centre. Although only 17 years old, Maria Alavidze is far from being a rookie in artistic swimming. She first represented Georgia at the age of 13 at the 2019 World Youth Championships, and hasn’t stopped competing internationally ever since.
At this time, she has participated in two World Championships, two European Championships, and three European Junior Championships. At each of these events, the young Georgian athlete has steadily improved, paving her own way towards the top. And, she’s not done yet.

ICYMI and are living under a rock, Giorgio Minisini has not been named to the Italian Olympic team squad. Yes, the team was already named. No, there was no national team trials.
The nine athletes are: Linda Cerruti, Marta Iacoacci, Sofia Mastroianni, Susanna Pedotti, Enrica Piccoli, Lucrezia Ruggiero, Isotta Sportelli, Giulia Vernice and Francesca Zunino. The reserve has not been determined yet.

The first leg of the 2024 Artistic Swimming World Cup in Beijing showcased a remarkable display of talent, with Chinese athletes dominating the competition. Even with a team mostly comprised of second-string athletes, the hosts displayed undeniable strength and skills, winning nine medals out of 11 possible, including six golds.

“Do you think that men are still excluded in artistic swimming?”
A few days ago, I was interviewed by a fellow journalist working on an article about men in artistic swimming. If she had asked me that question 24 hours earlier, my answer would have been immediate.

The season gets back underway tomorrow in Beijing, with the first stop of the 2024 World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup. About 100 athletes representing 14 countries have traveled to China, with only four sending full teams. The others have opted to either give their junior athletes competition experience, and/or to focus on the solo and duet events.
